I have always looked up to Kristi and I adore her. I am glad to see her win! Even though there are some people who disagree, there is no need to be mean. Everyone did well!

ABC/KELSEY McNEAL

Olympic gold medal-winning figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi became the second female ever to win Dancing With the Stars on Tuesday.
"This is the icing on the cake," she said. "I thank all the fans ... and everyone who has made this a dream experience."
She and partner Mark Ballas got a perfect score of 30 for their final competitive dance, the jive. (They also got a perfect score of 60 on Monday's show.)
Judges praised them for being the most "consistent" throughout the season - and viewers agreed by voting for them (a combination of the judges' and viewers' votes determined the winner).
Pro football player Jason Taylor and partner Edyta Sliwinska - whose last dance, the quickstep, was praised by all the judges - came in second place.
"Kristi is so deserving," Taylor said. "Kristi very much deserves it. I had the time of my life."
Cristian de la Fuente, who is to undergo surgery Friday for a ruptured tendon in his biceps that he suffered on the show, was the first finalist to get the boot. His partner, Cheryl Burke, wiped away tears.
"I would never have the feeling of going into the final after an injury if it wasn't for Cheryl," he said. "She's been the best partner I could have."
Many expected a male to take the title, as season one contestant Kelly Monaco has been the only female to win.

KRISTI, KRISTI, KRISTI, KRISTI!!!!! MARK, MARK, MARK, MARK!!!!!
I just want to say that me, being a figure skater myself, can completely see why she won. Figure skating is just serious dancing on a much more slippery floor! She has a fit body, and wonderful agility and grace. If she can do that on ice, she can do it on wood.
Not only was Kristi a skater, she was a pairs skater! She was twice the U.S. national champion with Rudy Galindo in pairs.
I think it's so deceptive that she never mentioned her national titles in pairs. Yes, Kristi danced well, but like many others have said, she *should* have danced well. Her advantage was huge. However, I think she completely lacks humility and should never have been on the show. Next time, put her up against other female skaters who have won Olympic gold medals or who have won national titles in pairs, and we'll see how well she stacks up.
I like Edyta.
Kristi was the best dancer in the competition. I'm so glad she won and yes it is about time a woman wins this competition but WOW what a winning team. She is a class act, always elegant, always a lady, and there is nothing brash about her. Mark taught her well and she was able and willing to listen to his instructions. This is very important when learning how to do the various dances. I appreciate all the hard work she puts into the routines to make it look so easy, elegant and beautiful. I enjoyed watching her and Mark give us a beautiful performances and maintain the art and essence of dance.
Thank you!
kristi and mark deserved to win! they were amazing! they are so good togehter. and who cares about american idol because i dont. dwts all the way! go kristi and mark!!!!
Figure skating is versus ballroom dancing. It is just like hockey is versus football. No similarity at all.
Kristi and Mark made Season 6 unforgettable and memorable. They deserve to win, not only due to the highest score they have attained, but both Kristi and Mark presented the complete package of grace, elegance, dedication, determination, humility, modesty, perfect in technicality and selling the dance. Without doubt, Kristi and Mark deserve to win. Kristi won as the second woman in DWTS, she has set the high standard, had the highest score in week one in DWTS history, had the first 10 in season 6, Kristi and Mark in the leaderboard for 8 weeks in DWTS history, first couple who had the perfect score, always safe and never been in the bottom two, and the only couple in season 6 who had 4 perfect scores. Overall in DWTS history, Kristi and Mark obtained the highest score of 428 and the average score of 28.3

It is completely ridiculous to say that she would be good at dancing just because she is a figure skater. Dancing and figyre skating are completely different things!!! The only advantage she had are that she has the amazing coordination and technical mindset from figure skating that helped her to execute the dance moves and having Mark as her partner. She just knows how to move her body but figure skating is not the same at all as ballroom dancing. She totally deserved to win from day one, she blew everyone else out of the water!!!
She's so hot. It seems that she has posted her profile at the wealthy men club wealthychats, co m, I remembered I've seen her at that website.
There were no complaints when drew lachey won and he was in a boy band. So was Sabrina from Cheetah Girls, and Scary Spice, and Apolo from season 1 was a figure skater too and there's joey fatone.
Why all the hate towards kristi when a crap load of other contestants on DWTS had dance background???
CRISTIAN DESERVED TO WIN , or at least be 2nd cause

Kristi and Mark were amazing since week 1 and TOTALLY DESERVED TO WIN! They made the show a joy to watch! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THEM! Kristi's only advantage is having Mark Ballas for her partner. He's simply incredible!!!
I dont think thats she hot or beautiful!!! I mean she doesnt have any sex appeal what so ever! She has no butt or any curves! I think Jason was sexy and hot!!!!!!!!!!!

You're an a$$ and I think the comment above proves that YOU are in fact, the dumbest creature on the planet.
Agree that the dancecontest was played with a "stacked" deck of cards. Kind of like if you brought in, say Jewel, or Pink, to compete in american idol.
Why anyone would think she wouldn't win is beyond me!
As a Team USA skater myself, the line between figure skating and dance is so thin. Clean edges, high kicks, coregraphed motions- it's all the same between the two. If she wouldn't have won, or would've been kicked off earlier in the season, it would've been a shame to her skating background.
You're either a dancer or you aren't.
Show producers set up Kristi for the win. Her popularity as an Olympic champion would garnish huge ratings. NONE of the others had a chance as she was performing moves in front of millions from early childhood and conquered the anxiety from doing so. Sure, she was the best dancer but did NOT BELONG there with the other occupations of the other celebrities.
A more even contest would have been better as everyone knew the winner from day 1.
OMG! IF YOU DIDN'T WANT TO KNOW WHO WON - WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU LOG ON TO ANY WEB SITE THAT WILL TELL YOU THE WINNER??????? DUMB ON YOUR PART! STAY OFF THE INTERNET IF YOU DIDN'T WANT TO KNOW! YAHOO AND MSN HAVE THE WINNERS AS WELL.
Kristy did a great job- however, she did have an advantage. I was a figure skater for years before an injury sidelined me and although I can't do the fox trot I do know how to move my body along with music- a skater has to be artisitc and technical on the ice, that ability to follow choreography and be graceful was the advantage she had. But she nailed the competition. I do have a huge problem with the show though- and wonder if many of you agree- 3 HOURS IS TOOO LONG!! They didn't need the re-cap (I understand Idol was on, but still not necessary) and they didn't need 120 minutes of filler. I don't have kids but I have 5 nieces (ages 6-12) who love this show- they couldn't watch the finale b/c it was a school night and recording it works but its not the same. They could've dumped the recap- even if they had to compete with Idol ratings- and aired it to 9:30/10. My elderly mother loves the show- but she hasn't stayed up past ten in years- maybe Im nit picking, but I hope for the next edition they wont make the viewers suffer through blah time fillers.
i love cuong xuan tran
She was consistently great & deserved to win!

Kristi was the best performer -- BY FAR -- not only this season but any other season as well. The only stars even close were Mario Lopez and the Cheetah Girl whose name I'd don't recall, both of whom got beat by the fans, not by the judges or the competition. After those two travesties, the judges made sure they differentiated enough with the scoring (as opposed to handing ties ala Mario and Emmitt) so that it wouldn't happen again.
Any of you who think skating = dancing have obviously never strapped on a pair of skates before. These 2 activites are not the same. Kristi may understand choreography and performing on the ice, but that doesn't mean she is a dancer. Kristi is just one of those people who do well at whatever she puts her mind to.
To that hater who said Kristi was "cheating", was a "fraud" and should be "ashamed" of herself: You need to seek professional help to get over your Jason crush.
Kristi deserved to win and I'm happy for her!! She was never an "ice dancer" and never "danced on the ice" before. Figure skating is completely different than ice dancing. She was also never a choreographer. Kristi worked so hard during her practices and perfected her routines so much that I'm afraid she made it look easy. It wasn't. She had a small amount of ballet when she was a kid and that's it. She's never done dancing other than weddings and clubs before this.
Kristi was the best dancer by far. It wasn't even close. And, please give me a break with this whining about her having an unfair advantage. Skating and dancing are NOT the same thing. Did anyone see the videos of her on her first day wobbling around on her heels and falling down just like any Newbie? Despite Kristi's doll-like appearance, she is a fierce competitor. Her advantage is her ability to focus on the big stage and has nothing to do with skating.
