2006 was kind to Katie Holmes, but less kind to the actress' credit card statement. According to a source, Tom Cruise's bride, 28, did $200,000 worth of damage at the Beverly Hills Barneys New York store last year alone.
In fact, Holmes – who shopped for shoes there last January, spent $400 on two pairs of jeans in April and left with five bags’ worth of baby clothes for daughter Suri in November.
Who has the time for all that shopping? She does. Holmes often asks the store to stay open for her after hours, the insider says.
“She walks around with a personal shopper and points at what she wants,” the source says. “She orders different colors and a few of each. She’s their favorite customer!”
(Holmes’ publicist denies the special treatment, while a Barneys rep says, “We never have been asked to open a store for Katie Holmes after closing hours.”)

We're living in a time when a bottle of good perfume is around $150. And frankly, if I had the kind of money those two have, you bet your bippy I'd be more indulgent than I already am. you are right on about all religions. most organized religions are corrupt, unfortunately. but in my defense, this article is not about all religions, it is about katie holmes, and tom cruise. and since katie and tom belong to the church of scientology, i felt compelled to express my feelings of the horrible CULT.

I'm sorry. I'd buy myself a shop or something. She must not care for working. I'd want to do something with my life. Now if she really had to have sex with him or one of his cousins to have the baby, would say she earned it. Otherwise not sure. Katie seems like she's on the imature side, and Tom just ran with that. She gave up going to school at Columbia to act-kids do that, But she's 28 now.

For those who are saying something is wrong with her needs to get a life. If you were a housewife/actress and had all that money you would be shopping also. Can it be that maybe she likes shoes. I love shoes and I spend alot of money on them and I am a happy married women for 11 years. Remeber this is her first baby and when I had my first baby all I did was shop for my baby even before he was born. Tom and Katie may God bless your marriage and family with all the happiness one can have.

For all the time and expense of getting married and acquiring a baby, not necessarily in that order, not one single person who thought Tom Cruise was gay changed his/her mind. So he might as well have donated the cash to the people of Darfur, or others with REAL problems, not PR problems.

Must be a slow news day. Who cares how Katie Holmes spends her money that she earned? She doesn't tell me how to spend my money, so what right do we have to tell her how to spend hers?
