I don't understand why people get so incensed when celebrities support a certain cause or spout their political opinions. We need more people to get politically involved. I'm glad they have an opinion on the issues. It just so happens they have money to contribute to their respective political parties. So what? If you don't agree you have the freedom to turn off the tv or radio. Get over it! I'm a doctor. So does that mean I can't give my political opinion? Acting just so happens to be their profession. My goodness! Conservatives are just upset because a large majority of Hollywood are liberal and contribute to the Democratic Party instead of Republican. If they were giving money to Republicans they'd be singing a different tune. If celebrities were spouting conservative views Republicans would not have a problem.

Barack Obama may be out campaigning for president, but he’s not completely out of the pop culture loop.
When he spotted Kate Walsh at his October 20 fundraiser in Hancock Park, California, he couldn’t help but make his way over to the actress, 40, to dish about her new ABC megahit Private Practice.
“So great to see you!” Obama, 46, gushed. “How's the new show?”
“It's going really well,” replied Walsh, who was there with her husband of nearly two months, film producer Alex Young.
So what’s his prognosis on the show? “I'm always out campaigning — I haven't been able to watch it so I can't give you a review,” he admitted, “but I’m sure it’s great.”
Obama will have plenty of opportunities to check out the series: It was recently renewed for a second season.

Girl, you don't offend me (I'm not sure that was sarcasm either). In fact, I do enjoy arguing with you, but sometimes, you are way too serious. I also live in Southern CA. What, you didn't like the fundraiser Oprah had for Obama?

You are dense.
Methinks you're puttin way too much stock in an undergrad degree. For the intellectually curious and driven, there is much more to learn mixing it up in the real world, with live ammunition, than in the classroom. Some people need the college experience to teach them how to think. Some know how to think for themselves and move on to start working at their goals.
~WICKED~ Sorry to piss you off so much with a simple and accurate statement: Hollywood is LARGELY liberal. California: VERY BLUE state. I know. I live down here in SoCal. Furthermore, I can names about 10 frickin' high school/college drop-out celebs for each one of the names you put down...but right now, I don't have the time to look up everyone b/c I have a lot of studying to do, but here are a few notable doosies: Kanye West, Sean Penn, Jeanine Garafalo, Kevin Bacon, Roseanne Barr, Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Johnny Depp, Eminem, Colin Farrell, Whoopie Goldberg, yada yada yada. They may be talented in artistic ways, but when it comes to politics and world issues, I (along with many Americans) don't think they have a clue what the hell they're talking about. That's all I'm saying. And it's funny to see liberals pander to the Hollywood celebrities like anyone cares what the frickin' celebrities have to say! That was my entire point. Sorry to offend you!
You don't see Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson, et al holding celeb fundraisers at Hollywood hotspot "Area", a la Obama... You don't see Huckabee, Paul, McCain et al holding big fundraising bashes at celebrity homes, a la Hillary Clinton....hmmm. Are you beginning to see how I come to one of my other original points that the left panders to Hollywood????

My God, woman! You spew such cr@p sometimes. Get over your Republican bullsh!t and Google famous college grads and see what you find. I'll help you a little. These are college grads: Meryl Streep, Angela Bassett, Kevin Costner, Holly Hunter, Brooke Shields, Jennifer Beals, Jennifer Connelly, Claire Danes, Steve Martin, Jodie Foster, Mira Sorvino, Robin Williams...I could go on, but I hope you see my point. Yeah, I'm sure they don't know anything that happens in the real world and don't vote. Do you sense my sarcasm or am I being a total Democratic a$$ with you?
Lo,
blah, blah, blah, blah.....are you finished? Actually, I have a job too. It just doesn't take me forever to come up with substantive thought. Good night :)
Alright well have a good night all...

kmac thanks for playing "therapist". Fortunately, I have a job so I don't have the luxury to sit here and type my whole political stand, nor do I have the desire to do so.
In response to your comment "You can tell by the lack of substance in your comments paired with insults that you really don't have much to say." that just proves you don't know what you are talking about because I am an avid reader... Don’t act like you know me or anything... and I’m not your “buddy”
Go red team! Beat the blue team! Get the ball thingy from left to right and into the chalked box thingy under the metal thingy!
Lo, 5:36 didn't say you didn't have an opinion...she said it wasn't much of one. At least other comments have had some thought put behind it. You reproved 5:36 on having too much of an opinion when you didn't have much of one at all. Lo, you should try reading a little more. You can tell by the lack of substance in your comments paired with insults that you really don't have much to say. Therefore, you try to insert cheap shots to make up for your lack of thought. I think it's unfair that you put others down for having a thought out opinion, buddy.
So you're saying that you actually have an opinion on Barack Obama, but you're not interested in sharing it?
“Who cares about Barack Obama” was my opinion. Here let me spell it out for you... its called a Rhetorical question, if you need an explanation of the "BIG" word try another big word called the dictionary... and I'm not your "sweety".. Thanks
LO - if you had an opinion, I'd listen to it. Who cares about Obama isn't much of an opinion, sweety.
4:23 PM Anonymous ~ I truly apologize for having an opinion, obviously your a woman who should've been a man because you are dominating and dont want anyone to have an opinion unless it matches your own. POOR YOU!!!
Katie E is an authority. Her dad is a doctor, so she knows everything because she answered phones in his office this summer. What she doesn't know, she lies about...there you have it.
Katie,
You are absolutely right. Look at actors like Ben Aflleck and Matt Damon who won Oscars for screen writing...Susan Sarandon college graduate....George Clooney, Oscar winner for screen writing....Denzel Washington, college graduate...a bunch of idiots! Anybody can write an award winning movie, write, direct, produce...Sounds like a bunch of idiot activist to me.....NOT! Take a minute a pick up your face! Why don't you stop making generalizations and stereotypic remarks....Just like a republican....and always wrong.
Katie E, you're right, Ronald Reagan didn't get any of the Hollywood vote.
Thank-you US magazine for continuing your tradition of posting light-hearted stories about the Dem. candidates and mean-spirited crap about the Republicans. Typical.
But seriously, is anyone honestly surprised to see a liberal candidate pander to the Hollywood elite?!? The leftist candidates all love to get the press of being buddy-buddy with celebs, regardless of the fact that the majority of American people could give a sh*t that a certain celeb supports a certain candidate. Come on now, the majority of celebs are total morons who've dropped out of high school or college and don't have a frickin' clue what goes on in the real world...like, say, the world outside of 24-hour limo servic, Hollywood premieres, and $5,000 purses...
No, I'm not Ann Coulter. But good guess.
4:10, are you Ann Coulter? The idiot who thinks women shouldn't be able to vote?
4:10, That just goes to show your ignorance. You can be a woman and still make sexist comments!
My comment was prompted by LO's who cares about Barack Obama post.
Who the F*ck cares?!!!!???
My comment was in reference to the article which was about him and Kate Walsh. If you are implying that I don't know anything about politics, you are trully mistaken. I follow the news and agree with a lot that Barak Obama stands for.
4:04, you forgot "accurate".
I'm a woman, too, so don't try to throw that at me.

3:55, what an insulting, sexist thing to say.
