In a revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey, Justin Timberlake admitted he doesn't know what's going on with his troubled ex Britney Spears.
"I haven’t spoken to her in years," the singer, 26, told the daytime diva, 53, on her show scheduled to air on Wednesday.
"I mean, there’s no ill will. I have nothing but love for her. It’s funny because we dated each other at a time...Wow, I haven’t talked about this in a long time. It’s interesting."
When Winfrey pressed on, he replied, "We were teenagers, you know? I think that’s basically the best way to describe what happened to us." He continued, "I think she’s a great person, and I don’t know her as well as I did …. What I do know about her is she has a huge heart, and she is a great person."

They have not been apart TEN YEARS!
It's going on FIVE years. AND THEY DATED INTO THEIR EARLY TWENTIES...not just as teenagers.
And he did lie, as the person below said. Britney was quoted in Harpers Bizaar last summer saying the last time she talked with Justin was TWO years ago in 2004.
He was quoteed in UK GQ in May saying it was three years, and that interview was THIS YEAR.
So, it's been THREE years since they talked...NOT SEVEN as he said on Oprah. Why Lie?
Also, he admitted to calling her in rehab and leaving a message. So he has reached out to her.
I do not ever think they will get back...not even as friends.
But I love how all the Britney haters try REAL HARD to dismiss how deeply he loved her, and how their break up devasted him and changed him.
YES..he is a different person too.

I saw the interview, and he was REALLY uncomfortable answering the questions about her, and bumbled around. He also lied and said they broke up SEVEN years ago, and he hasn't talked to her since.

Look Justin. I know you want to distance yourself from the disaster that is Britney, but we all KNOW you guys were together until late 2002 early 2003.
Next interview he'll say they broke up TEN years ago...and keep making it seem YEARS AGO.
He'll just keep adding time and distance in between them.
Also, he said "we were teenagers."
Well that's partially true, but they dated until he was almost 22 years old, and they even LIVED together for two years.
So...he really tried to distance himself from her, and tried to make their relationship seem unimportant "teenage stuff."
Very odd.

It is so funny the context US magazine uses to describe Justin's Oprah interview.It actually incorrectly quotes Justin in the headline because nowhere in the article does it say those exact words. People had a more accurate depiction of what really transpired during the interview. Same with the pic of Britney eating ice cream, Us magazine put one on with her mouth wide open and People had a really flattering picture. I have seen it posted on this website before that people believe US magazine has it out for Britney and now I believe it.

Justin is just one user. Everyone knows that he is laughing at her from their break up till today. Poor Britney, not luckly in personal life. From Justin to Kevin, from her ex-manager Larry to her family, everyone is just using her as money bank. I can understand her feeling. Hope she can find one way out. Life is never easy.

Justin can seem a little arrogant in some interviews, but he was well spoken on Oprah. Everyone has trashed Britney lately (with good reason), but he took the high road and didn't say one negative thing about her. And I give him props for saying what needed to be said on the VMA's about all the reality shows. MTV doesn't have anything to do with music television any more and the only way you're going to see videos on that station is if you're up at 3:00 in the morning. Why even have music awards if you never play the friggin videos? VH1 is a far better station than MTV and has been for a while. They have their reality shows as well, but at least they have something to do with the music industry and they still play a wide variety of videos all the time. I give Justin props for saying what should have been said long ago.

Justin has a lot going for him with a hugely successful music career and movie roles. He and everyone else knows how messed up Britney is and how awful her life has been this year, but he took the high road and didn't trash her. As far as Justin and Britney getting back together, I think there's more of a chance that Brad Pitt and Jennifer Anniston will re-unite. There's little chance of that either. I hope the best for Britney; she's in a dark place right now and needs to pull out of it.
