FACEBOOKWell, I am a 39 year old divorced mom of a 7 year old child. I date a 21 year old man. Neither of us knew the others age until 3 months into our courtship. I'm 5'3 and 120 lbs, I work out an hour each day, and I'm more fit now than I was when I was in my 20's. My 6 pack is better defined than his. I am always mistaken for someone in their mid 20s as opposed to someone approaching 40 thanks to good genes, healthy eating and excercise. As a matter of fact, I thought he was older, or at least close to my age when we first met. He pursued me relentlessly. We do NOT have a physical relationship, but we enjoy each others company tremendously! As far as what can a soon to be 40 year old woman and a 21 year old man have in common, well that depends on the couple. He and I both love jet skiing, boating, bowling, working out, sporting events, hot air ballooning, and we've even gone sky diving. We enjoy the same movies, and music, and stimulating conversation. He's a very mature 21 year old, he's very well read, and keeps up with current events, so our conversations don't lack anything. He obviously loves to date older women as his ex-girlfriend is 2 years older than I am. He's younger than my god-son who is 23, and quite frankly, more mature. Neither of us are looking to be each others soul mate. We have fun hanging out together and that's it. It's more of a friendship than a romantic relationship and that's as far as it will go.

Age ain't nothin' but a number, says Oscar-nominated Diving Bell and Butterfly director Julian Schnabel.
Blogs were recently abuzz when his 21-year-old son, Vito, began dating model Elle Macpherson, 44.
But Schnabel told Usmagazine.com at Sunday's Oscars, "They’re hanging out. It’s not like he’s smuggling heroin across the border! It’s not a big deal."
Schnabel recently made headlines after he was heckled by a drunk Sean Young at an awards show.
He later cracked to Us, "I didn’t have anything interesting to say anyway, so I should beg her to come with me wherever I go!"
When Macpherson was asked if she's dating Schnabel, she told Access Hollywood, "No, I am not. Sorry. I never talk about my personal life but in this particular case, because he is nearly underage, I have to deny it because there is nothing else to do except deny it."

I say if you feel something for someone older go for it.. and to say someone older and someone younger have nothing in common lol how would any of you know have you tried...People like you that judge I mean that is the reason she won't give me a chance, I know she cares but to damn afraid of what people will say and won't follow her heart and thats real messed up so you can all who disagree go **** your selves...
Creepy. Not so much the age diffrence but because they are both creepy looking. She looks like a fifty year old, and he looks like a fourteen year old. Just goes to show you what getting a tan cost later on. SUNSCREEN!
Hmm.. well, I'm 41, look like my early to mid 30's, and I've met girls as young as 25 I would (and do) date. But I would never go below 25. No way, no how. It's not dating the younger women that is a problem, it's when you meet their guy friends that look like they're 12 (like this guy) that makes you feel old.
I have to be honest.. I think it's really weird. I mean 44 and 21 is a BIG age difference. She could have children his age or older! And what could they possibly have in common besides they both want to get in the sack ? Nothing other than sex! I mean she can fake like she's young with style of dress and makeup, but the reality is she isn't a young chicken anymore. Don't get me wrong she's very attractive but she needs to date someone closer to her own age. I just find this relationship inappropriate for him and her. I think it looks very odd because it's like he's going around with his mother or aunt. If he was 30 perhaps I could see it.. but come on 21 is just barely an adult in today's society. What is she going to do.. go drinking at the club with him.. come on... stop trying to date your son Elle!
my mom dates a friend of mine from highschool and they have been together for 3 yrs + . they are best friends and get along well. he's 24 and she's 49 everyone makes such a big deal but who cares!!!??? people are so uptight and stupid and need to reevaluate their own lives!!!!!!!
I love her very much . her blog is very interesting. I just read it on a celebrity and millionaire dating site called "Searching Millionaire COM". It attracted many fans.

Why would a 40 year old want a 20 year old? Because they are horny and old and want to feel better about themself by doing a younger person. Remember, you are only as old as the person you are sleeping with.
O.k, that's cool, but not all 40 year olds are old and saggy, and remember you'll be 40 one day - when I was 20, 40 year old guys grossed me out too. Plus, by reading your comments, it shows your maturity level and that's why I wonder why any 40 year old would even want to date someone in their 20s.

Uh, any 21 year old with EYEBALLS! Old people are GROSS! I am in my 20's and I think 40 year olds are saggy and wrinkly. I would NEVER hook up with an old fart like that! YUCK!
I don't think it's a matter of "letting" a 21 year old do anything. It's not as if he's a child, and I have to think that on some level, guys would be almost proud of their sons dating hugely famous super models. Seriously, what dad is going to complain that his son is dating Elle Macpherson? I mean, if she were an alcoholic/drug addict or somehow a really horrid influence, then yeah, I guess there would be cause for concern, but a grown man dating a grown woman? Who cares? It's fine that all these guys date younger women (Jack Nicholson, George Clooney, etc...) but as soon as a woman does, then it's like, "oh, is this okay?" or she gets branded a cougar. Mind you, I'm 26 years old myself, but if a woman wants to date a guy half her age, I don't care. He's not a child so at this point, it's consenting adults.
IF he's old enough to vote and die for his country then he is old enough to boink Elle.
He's 21, legal to drink, legal to do whatever he wants. His parents don't have a say. As far as the age difference, if the tables were turned, no one would say a thing. I think people are just envious that she looks as good as she does.

Um, I think if your child is 21, there's no "letting" them do anything. They're adults and can do what they want.

I can't believe that he couldn't even get Elle. I don't care if she is 44, she looks better than most women in their 20's. As long as he is over 18 who cares? No laws are being broken & it isn't anyone else's business.

I think that it's great that younger men are going for older women more frequently these days. This situation wouldn't seem so creepy if Schnabel didn't look like a 13 year old. Seriously, that kid's gonna be carded everywhere until he's 45 years old.

I totally agree with Anon 7:27; it is creepy because he does look like he is at most 14. If it were a Demi Moore/Ashton Kutcher match it would not look so strange...but it is a free country, and he is 21 (or so they say).

I KNEW somebody was going to say, "Men do it all the time, and nobody says anything about them. Blah blah blah." Look at the freakin picture, peeps. He looks like he's 12, and she's over 40. I don't care if Tom and Katie are 20 years apart and Michael and Catherine are 80 years apart. They were older when they got together. And at least they don't look like they're children hanging out with the big people. It's just creepy. What could a 21 year old guy and Elle Macpherson possibly have in common? Anybody???

Michael Douglas is 60+, Catherine isn't even 40 yet.
That doesn't gross people out, it is widely accepted for older men to hook up with younger women. Why is it not the same if a woman finds a younger man? If two adults enjoy each others company, and if they are comfortable with an age difference, in either direction, then why judge them? Where does it say that the man needs to be older, or that there can only be x number of years between partners? That's just close minded, and in this day and age you'd think society would be more accepting.
Maybe if he was taller than her, it wouldn't look so weird??
