FACEBOOKyeah i love jordins singing....how come its dated August? I thought once she wins, she will have a record deal immediately like in the month of June? I mean David Cook got a deal in RCA on June, and even archuleta got a record deal with jive on June too..... How come hers was in August? and blake was in august too...?

The youngest American Idol winner has set another show milestone, as the first champ to sign with the label of Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and the Backstreet Boys -- Jive Records.
17-year-old Jordin Sparks began the year as a regular high schooler in Glendale, Arizona. Today, she tells fans via a statement, “American Idol has truly been a life altering experience. [This] is hopefully the beginning of another dream opportunity for me to deliver the kind of meaningful music I love. I can’t wait to share this next chapter of my story with all the fans that have supported me so far.”
Clive Davis, who has guided Idol winner careers in the past said of the signing, “Jordin is a terrific young singer who has found a great home at Jive. [They] know how to patiently nurture career artists, and Jordin Sparks hints of a legacy and longevity waiting to be fulfilled.”
Sparks is currently on a U.S. tour with the Idol Season Six finalists. Her first single, "Tattoo," will be released Aug. 27.

I am looking forward to hearing music from Jordin. She has an awesome voice, however I too thought that when you won American Idol you got a one million dollar contract with the record company...???... I am confused. And as for those that say she's chubby, fat and so on, they are all idiots. Miss Sparks is a real woman. Not everyone has to stick their finger down their throat to be excepted in this world. Most of the singers/actors etc need to eat a flippin' sandwich. GO JORDIN!!!!

I am so happy that Jordin has sign with Jive. They will cater to her every desire. Jive has a repetation for creating gold mines who last a very long time. In regards to some of the people on here saying Jordin should be fine despite her weight, dude what does that have to do with anything we are talking about today. Weight is so overrated and her talent alone should give her "Whitney Houston" stats {except for the drugs}. U go Jordin

Jive Records has merged with RCA Records and is now part of the J/Arista/RCA label group. Clive Davis is the head of that group and probably thought the Jive promotions team would work her album best as they have a roster that caters to a young audience (Justin, Ciara, Chris Brown)

What's really going on is that Clive realized he couldn't turn water into wine with this girl. Let's face it...the wrong singer won. Between the dismal failures of Ruben and Taylor, he decided to cut his losses by sending to another label that probably won't promote her that good. I see he (Clive) kept Blake??????
