Jude Law, Colin Farell and Johnny Depp all high paid in demand actors, for them to take this role, in my opinion shows how much respect they had for Heath Ledger may he rest in peace.

Jude Law, Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell will fill in for Heath Ledger in his final role in the unfinished fantasy flick The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.
Law's rep confirmed their casting to BBC News, but said she was unclear as to how the role would be reconstructed.
Production on the Terry Gilliam-directed film was suspended after Ledger died of a prescription drug overdose last month. He had been shooting the film up until his untimely death.
According to the BBC, original footage of Ledger may remain while Law, Depp and Farrell will play different incarnations of his character, Tony.
I have to put my 2 cents in here. I didn't personally know Heath and like everyone else only know what I read about him. He appeared to be a devoted father and didn't seem to have let his fame go to his head. May God rest his soul. He was loved by his family and many friends. To lump him in with the Lindsays and Brittneys of Hollywood is an insult to anyone with a sense of humanity. The man was an actor not a pharmacist and quite possibly didn't know how all those pharaceuticals interacted and just to get some rest he took the wrong amount. Let the man rest in peace.
As for Brittney and her ilk, if you would stop showing any kind of interest in her shenanigans maybe she would be able to get the help she needs. She is a very sick girl and is desperately screaming for it but not even her parents can do anything for her. The spotlight is a bigger draw for her.
Give her a rest!!
It's very hard to see people that so easily pass judgement on others, especially those they don't even know. Would you want to be judged, have you never made mistakes in your life? Better step back and look in a mirror. Life can be very hard and it doesn't matter what you are doing in life or how much money you have. I feel very sorry for actors and entertainers because the media make their lives so difficult, every thing they do is put on TV and in those loser magazines they publish and the public are dumb enough to buy. Hard to tell if any of it is the truth. A little girl lost her Dad, a mother and father their son, and his friends lost their friend. Give them love and prayers not hate and judgement, the world has way too much of that!
I can't say anything better than the post of this person. I can't even add more to it, only that I completely agree with everything said and the way it was said. Thank you.
I think this is wonderful, i remember they wanted to mainly have depp stepping in but now to also have law and farrel is absolutly amazing, i m mainly impressed at how much the director wanted to save the movie to dedicate it to heath and having these amazing actors sharing this respect to heath and wanting to make his last work which was in this movie remembered and not forgotten or dumped away is really worthy of credit, thumbs up........

Now i dont care about any negative stories told about heath, it is unbelievable how the media exceeded all limits covering his death and wanting to dig out any negative stuff about him not caring as much about evidence just WISHING it was true, this is a true lack of respect and humanity, in the end nothing changes the fact that he was a person exceptionally admired loved and respected by everyone who knew him no matter what even wrong he has done once in a time of his life, he was a good person and was so througout his life until death.
First off,
My prayers goes to The beloved family and friends was linked this remarkable man. May his legeacy carry on to its capcity. But I get that out the way, We need to let the damn boy rest in peace. He did what he had to do, so why cant we. Lindsey cant bleamr Hollywood for choices, you need to stop blaming people for your problems and look inside yourself. Now I do believe these stars or human beings. That is why mess with Heath because man he was real and he was passionate about life, mastering his craft as a actor and the love for Michelle and his baby sis. Not to mention his love for his country. So what he had a drug problem. We have additions and flaws God dont like. Real talk God never change his mind about us. So America the time you sit here and taking about why he did Brokeback Mountian, you need to take the time and get your life straight out your damn self!!!!
Ps: leave Amy and Britney Alone
Gossip Mags are getting pay off of us reading that mess!
For all the people who are saying things like 'get a life' and 'these [celebrities] are people you never even met' - I just have to wonder: why are YOU spending time surfing the US Weekly web site? Are you lost?
for all the people that say that he wasnt anything special and just an actor, you are completely ignorant. He was special because he was an outstanding actor. It truly is a shame that we wont get to see him in anymore movies except for what he has already finished and are yet to be released. If you dont understand why movie stars are special then just ask yourself "why do people go see movies". Movies make people feel different emotions and good actors can make this a more profound experience. If you havent seen Ledger in anything just wait for the Dark Knight. Then youll see how good of an actor he was.or maybe you are just simple-minded people that go to movies to see things blow up. Either way things will blow up in Dark Knight and it will still be awesome.
I totally agree with Megan!!! Heath was my favorite actor too , his dead is so unfair! :( why?,why Heath?
i will always remember him and love him... I hope he rest in peace.
who is this guy?? heath? i never heard of the guys nor have seen any movies with him in it. i didn't know he was so famous. well, i hope his soul's in a good place (hope he wasn't as self-motivated as the rest of hollywood.)
I am from Malaysia .. and I love Heath!!! Its sad to have someone with his calibre leaving the scene. I would say he was one of the best actor in the industry...
I think that all the actors will be great in the role but not as good as heath im sorry to say. Heath was just too amazing! Theres just no way any of them will be able to come close to how amazing heath would have been in this film! but i think johnny depp will be the best in atleast trying and i think they should keep what little part heath played in the film because it was really his last role! :(
I pray everyday for heath's family. Heath was my favorite actor and always will be. love you heath!
In NO way was he a "accomplished public figure" he is more popular now that he passed then when he was alive. He did a few films, big freakin deal. Walking past him in the street, serving him coffee at Starbuckss or seeing him on a set while you were an extra is knowing him either. Im sure he was a good person, and its always sad to see someone pass but this is enough. He didnt change society or even make it better, HE WAS A ACTOR.anyone who thinks this guy changed the world is better off being in that fantasy world you all LIVE IN. Remove yourself from you fantasy world and come on back down to earth. You all know we(the county you live in) are at war right? Your accomplished public figure couldnt handle the stress of a few movies and being overpaid and having a easy great life, how long do you think he would last in Iraq with a rifle in his hand? how long do any of you weirdos think you would last? Oh No! NO US weekely, No lame movie stars that I can wish I was like! Poor me GET A GRIP you LOSERS!
"7:19 PM Jesse Says: What an ingnorant thing to say. Jesse you have no sense of decency.Just b/c he died of an OD of prescription meds does not make him a bad man. As a person w/ a medical background I can tell you this and you can take it too the bank! GO TO PRISON FOR DRUGS? YOU ARE NUTS! OUR COUNTRY NEEDS A SYSTEM IN PLACE TO HELP PEOPLE WITH CHEMICAL PROBLEMS.PRISON NEEDS TO BE FOR BURGLARS, THIEVES AND KILLERS.
AN ACCIDENTAL OD WAS JUST THAT AN ACCIDENT. THE MAN DIDN'T DESERVE YOUR CRITICISM.
When some people start taking prescription drugs, they start feeling better & feel that if ONE pill is good - TWO must be better.
Happens all the time.
Some people have NO IDEA of the risk they are taking and would never imagine that they can easily die by taking more than the prescription says.
It is SAD that prescription drugs are the new recreational drug of choice - but it's the truth.
Wow, just think, it's going to take 3 super, wonderful and very talented actors to do what 1 could of done. Rest in peace, Heath.
To the people that say that he shouldnt be mourned because he died from drugs, you are truly ignorant. Drugs are also known as MEDICINES to help people. You people act like he overdosed on crack and heroin or something. Learn to have a little bit of compassion for a fellow human regardless of a misdose of medicine. You people make me sick, honestly. What ever happened to having respect for people no matter what position they hold in life? PEOPLE ARE STILL PEOPLE..
I will not rush to judgement but that doesn't stop me from beleiving that an "accidental death by overdose" still means he was abusing.
That being said I am very sorry for him and his family, especially his daughter. I thought he was a very fine actor. Some of you could show compassion for your fellow man even if you think he did wrong. Death is a severe punishment for an addict.
I disagree with you, Traumafixr. What's it matter how Heath died. Although many of us only saw him in the movies, he has still touched our lives indirectly. As for the overdose, if you have never known and cared for a person who's had contact with drugs, I'm happy for you. As for the rest of us, this is the real world. I am sympathetic to his family and especially his little girl. I wish the best for them all.
Some people forget how easy it is to become confused when sick and taking medications. I choose to give him the benefit of the doubt and hope others will consider the possibility that it was an honest mistake. We should all be very careful when taking any type of drugs and use extra precaution when sickness could interfer with judgement.
do not feel sorry for him, he died of a drug overdose. he was a big boy that made a big boy decision. I am sick of people feeling sorry for stupid people. people like Lindsey Lohan and these other drugged out stars should be in prison for violating American antidrug laws.
To "Get a grip": Not everyone experiences life as you do. Some people grieve the loss of accomplished public figures because those public figures have given something to society on a level that most don't ever approach.
I DID know Heath Ledger. During the brief time I spent with him, I found him to be a kind and thoughtful man, deserving of all the comments from those who mourn his passing.
To: "Maybe T. Cruise was right": 1) He wasn't, and 2) Heath died of an ACCIDENTAL drug overdose.
To everyone else: I share your grief.
traumafixr said it all.... A drug is still a drug. I only hope and pray that this may open the eyes of the next "star" to avoid falling into the drug trap. Heath will be greatly missed by all his fans. Jude, Johnny, and Colin show great respect by finishing the movie for Heath. I will be there to see it when it opens.
CRY ME A F$%#*&@ RIVER
you people are all losers! get a life, and not one connected to people you DONT know or will NEVER EVER meet. please get a life and talk to people you could have a chance to actually meet. None of you ever met this person or even came in 50 yards of him and you all act like you lost a brother. Get a grip people!
i miss heath so much even though i never met him i hope hes in heaven with god
Why is everyone saluting a person that died of a drug overdose. He abused something that was supposed to help him, society has it's priorities all messed up. I give credit to johnny, Colin and Jude for stepping up to the plate but let us not forget why they had to. Belushi, Phoenix, Joplin and numerous others. A drug is still a drug, maybe T. Cruise was right, this country is way over medicated. Maybe some of you should be though.
Mr. Law, Mr. Depp, and Mr. Farrell--I salute you.
Heath ledgers death was tragic. We had just finished watching The Patriot movie in which he plays a boy Gabriel who goes into the American Revolution at a young age. I think it's sad but the new movie ideas are great. I would go to see Johny Depp anyday.
I give the best of luck to heath's family!!!
Wow. If all three of these actors are going to contribute to Heath Ledger's final performance, I'd be a moron to miss it.
