Jennifer Lopez's grandmother, Julia Rodriguez, was laid to rest Wednesday in her Bronx, New York, hometown.
Lopez, 38, was performing with husband Marc Anthony, 39, in L.A. October 20 when Rodriguez passed away.
A source tells Usmagazine.com that Anthony, 39, "canceled a round of interviews" to attend an October 22 memorial service for Rodriguez, a seamstress, who had inspired Lopez to open her Pasadena, California, restaurant, Madre's, in 2002. (Lopez also canceled a concert scheduled for today in San Diego due to the recent Malibu blazes, the source said.)
"Jennifer was extremely close to her grandmother," a source says. "She was very supportive and with Jennifer and Marc a lot in her final days."
The source says Rodriguez was equally excited about Lopez's pregnancy.
"She loved her granddaughter and Marc and would have loved to have been there for the birth," the source adds. "It's very sad."

That's sad. My friend's grandma died 6 HOURS before she was BORN! They never met. My mom was talking 2 by friends mom, and MY mom knew, but my friend's mom didn't. (It was her mom...)

Yes, jennifer lopez loves her grandmother very much. Through the tens of photos she posted on the celebrity singles club millionairecupid .com, I found 6 photos are taken with her grandmother. And she kept these pics with her newest photos together, so I think that's enough to prove that he is a good kid before her grandmother.

It is sad that her grandmother died before ther great grandchild was born but if Jennifer has a girl maybe she could name her Julia. Julia is a beautiful and "normal", why not choose a classic normal name.... like Julia in honor of her grandmother.

i feel real bad i lost my grandmother and a week later i lost my mother in law the same month last year in november and we're still mourning its very,very hard i can't even talk about it i start tearing up

It's NEVER easy to lose a loved one--especially while pregnant. Celebrity or not, that's painful. My sympathies to Jennifer Lopez and her family.

How very sad. That was one of my biggest fears when I was pregnant. That someone close to me would not make it till the birth. Also, no one needs that stress when they're pregnant. My deepest sympathies.

Hopefully this will open her eyes to how important her family is and start spending more time with them. Her own mother has even said that JLo is way too busy even to make a phone call. Sounds like her stale career is more important.
