FACEBOOKyou guys are dumb tacky or broke. most expensive or even just premium contemporary clothing tend to have cleaner silhouettes and tend to come in more solid colors for the reason that richer classier people are not as flashy (better known as tacky in my book). also, if you did not know she uses fabrics like micro modal (if you people bothered to look at the site) which costs way more than polyester that the clothes you compare her clothes to that you claim look similar but have more patterns and cost a fraction of the price. i'm a manufacturer so i know these things and i shop premium contemporary myself. her line is actually cheaper than many contemporary lines that also use solid colors and have similar understated silhouettes. think of it this way.. go to a classy restaurant and people are soft-spoken, go to the ghetto and they talk loudly. don't complain that her clothing isn't loud and "patterned" enough, it caters to the classier soft-spoken people who don't want their clothing to mimic the obnoxious ghetto voice.

The Hills star Lauren Conrad debuted her new clothing line over the weekend. The Lauren Conrad Collection features soft dresses (two of which are named for friends Audrina and Lo!) for around $140, leggings for close to $50, and flowy tops from $85 to $100.

Lauren is cool but her clothes look like everything at joyce leslie that you would pay a lot less than half the price for. $140 dress that looks like would be worth $25, maybe even on sale for $10.
I cant believe it's not butter! Maybe different color/fabrics or something thats says watch out for me. I still believe in her abilities as a young inspiring designer.
i love her clothing line i think it is wonderful and i give her credit for everything she is doing and working on at such a young age...... not alot of people get even half as far in there life as she has got before she even turned 25...... i do think that if she wants to get more buyers she needs to lower the prices but i still love her and what she has done.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love Lauran's clothes and her clothing line. I want to become a fashion designer also and design and sell my own clothes. Congradulation's on designing your new clothing line.
why are some people saying they would pay more for quality and assuming that her material is quality...nobody knows..
and why spend 50 on leggings when they will be out of style soon...who cares if they last forever

laurens line is a joke.with $140 i could buy things that i'm actually going to use not rags that i'll only use a couple of times or that will tear.

Don't get me wrong the clothes are very cute and look very comfertable but $140 for a plain black, blue or what-ever colored dress is just nuts!
I mean seriously is the material made out of gold or something?? Because I'm seriously not seeing why the clothing is marked from $50-$180, doesn't make much sense to me.
Of course I would!! Actually!! I'm thinking about it!! I love that the pieces are simple... So I can make them my own... I hate people who just buy clothes and don't add their own touch to them... its just like... lets follow what everyone's doing!! They a bit expensive... But i like to pay a bit for quality!!
I absolutely loooove Laurens sense of fashion. I cant wait until she adds more to her line. All of you broke people are ridiculous for not liking her clothes. Half of you probably have no style anyways. I would buy clothes from her line!! Go Lauren!!
Her clothing line is waaayyyy overpriced. You can get similar items for a fraction of the cost. For her to be new in the business, she needs to lower those prices or the products will be staying in the warehouse. Not to mention, her line is rather boring and simplistic. She's needs to spice it up a couple of notches.

lauren is great but her clothing line isnt! =\ its not impressive and wayyyyy overpriced. c'mon, vera wang has a line for kohls and shes well known amongst the celebs! sorry, LC but we're disappointed.
I completely agree, I love lauren as much as the next person but her clothing line is a litte over priced and its not anything spectacular. I dont mind splurging on something great but if its a plain tube dress i would never pay $140 for it. She needs to make it a little more personal and unique i think, and then people will for sure be willing to pay.

Nice dresses. Unfortunately, I'm not a moron to buy the items at that ridiculous price. I rather put my $$$ towards something that appreciates versus watching some other person's $$$ appreciate with my money.

I've seen better, but then again, I've definitely seen a lot worse. It's not a bad first effort. For a girl just starting out in her career, I think she's doing just fine. I'm sure it'll only improve from here.
I'm sorry but these dresses look like every other dress out there. Since when is "design" synomous with "copying other lines". There is nothing unique or outstanding about her so-called line.
Except for the headband; it's rather cute. But it looks like every other one that's been popular since last summer.
Bless her, she tried. She just needs to try harder if she wants to sell at those prices. I have no problem paying for quality clothing. I do have a problem paying for a label alone, and that's all this is.
Why would someone pay that much for material with just a few stitches. Go to the fabric store and make it yourself. These dresses do not show talent. If she is considered a "designer" for putting thread in fabric, then anyone could be a "designer".
I don't spend a lot of money on clothes and I don't buy crap, either. The Gap/Banana Republic are good, and there are so many discount stores that sell things much cheaper than what you can find in a lot of other places. I've paid $10 for a dress that is beautiful and lasted for years and is by a great designer. But I've also learned that just because it's expensive, it doesn't mean it's better. You just have to have an eye for it. Lauren's things remind me of stuff you can get in Victoria's Secret. And with their quality of clothing, that's not a compliment. Her stuff seems overpriced. It would be okay if it was like SJP's line and you didn't pay much for clothes to just run around in, but I think I'll pass.
