Has anyone ever stopped and put themselves in her shoes? People are So quick to judge and impose negative thoughts and opinions. This child like all of us is a child of God. talented, beautiful, compassionate and SEARCHING as kids in their 20's typically do. Sure shes made a few blunders. Even if she wasnt all those things, and a normal kid trying to find her way thru life, still, NO other human being has a RIght to exploit her honor and dignity. LIFE IS A BOOMERANG, so what negative judgement you feed into, will come back to you, all you haters, and you will one day find yourself being exploited and persecuted.
due to the greedy and insensitive folks around her, she has been VIOLATED by the media, whom I would term as rather Cruel, always focusing on the "drama" aspect rather than the tragedy of whats going on in a young soul, whos intent has always been to Please people through her talent. Anyone would be depressed knowing they really dont have any TRUE friends in this world,as when she hit rock bottom, the media exploited her even more. THey should be ASHAMED of themselves. We need to PRAY for this child, that she may be surrounded with angels, and good people who genuinely care for her, and will assist in nurturing her well-being so that she can come back and bring the light in to the world thru her gift, however she may choose to do it, if she still has the Will power. If anyone has SCREWED her up, its the negative media and all buying in to it.
With all this constant public humiliation, negative spins on her every move, nobody sincere around her, these "lockdowns", controling and manipulating explanations about her, and medications which are probably screwing her up even more, its no wonder she is down. This societies response is NOT helping. Those of you praying for her, AMEN. If she can make it through this, am sure she will be a light to this world. I pray she doesnt give up.

Hear hear Lora. I've always disliked her, but.. why the hell hasn't anyone checked her for 1.post-partum depression and 2. I cannot believe they aren't testing/treating her for bipolar disorder-she REALLY needs to check in somewhere where the doctors, counselors, and other staff are REALLY patient and experienced and tried different meds until they found the right cocktail, as many weeks as she needs to get better.Also, the media coverage is getting out of hand- we are AT WAR. Media coverage probably makes her even more miserable. I also felt sorry for her after the intense backlash about her appearance at the MTV thing profession to have a perfect body plus they seem to go up all the time. But she looked all dead-eyed and obviously terrified she was going to screw up the choreography, felt completely unattractive, and the pressure was high. It would have been a better idea to put her in a bodysuit with built-in boning instead of bra and panties, but her thighs looked fine and she had somehow managed to have no traces of cellulite, which is really hard to cover up even if you have nylons on. I could tell all the tricks they used to make her look better, hair extensions, spray-on tan, a good amount of push-up in her push-up bra, but she got into the shape she was in very fast. Then Miz Silverman has to make at least really one nasty joke about her. Bold choice, Sarah!Also, no matter how screwed up she is, she has to have SOME idea that she's one of the most disliked person in the country and everywhere she's the butt of making fat jokes and crazy jokes and white trash jokes. Poor thing... but I feel way poorer for her kids(and pets). They nailed it around Thanksgiving on Best Week Ever in a segment called, "It used to be funny, but now it's just kind of starting to get really sad."

I am a mother myself and i'm sorry but even if your in the public eye (like many other celebs are...gwen stefani, angelina jolie, courteny cox,ect...)you can be a good a good mother. i'm not saying i deserve the mother of the year award but no matter what has happened in my life my child and her needs have always come first. A judge is not goin to award sole custody of 2 children to an idiot like kevin federline just for fun, its because he is a better parent than britney could have ever thought to be. I myself was awarded custody of my niece and nephew because it was proven that their parents were unfit, not because the judge was prejudice or didn't like them. the judge made a decision to better the life of those two children. personally i think that medication and psychiatric help is what she needs. and she shouldn't be aloud around the children until she has gotten help and stable enough to be a positive influence on her kids... NOT HOLD THEM HOSTAGE!!!!! has anyone even thought about what is best for the kids?? who cares about britney, she is a big girl and ha dug herself in a hole, and she can dig herself out. but those kids didn't ask to have that idiot as their mother. but they deserve to have stable loving people around them. people who can care for them correctly!!!

To be perfectly honest, and brutally honest I think the media is messing with a woman who has some mental issues and drug addictions, emotional problems and alcoholism, maybe even post-partum depression. She wants her sons, yet I don't think she is capable of taking care of them. The media started making a joke out of her when she first married Kevin Federline, got pregnant with the boys, and labeling her a bad mother. That started the whole fiasco, and the media needs to end it. It has gotten to the point where Britney will eventually be a figure such as Princess Diana, Marilyn Monroe and Anna Nicole Smith. Those women are dead, one of them as the result of the media. Do we want to add to this horrible disaster we call entertainment? I think that this is the opportunity to prevent another tragedy. But I don't think the media will avoid it.

There is not even this much publicity with any of the other young women who rule Hollywood, such as Paris Hilton, and Lindsay Lohan. Yes, they get all their problems on air on a daily basis, and it is just not right. These women should not be doing what they are doing, but as well the media should not be encouraging it! I heard that Britney has allowed the publicity, but how much do we really know? The fact that her little sister Jamie Lynn who is only 16 and pregnant, tells me that there is some terrible problems here. Next thing you know Jamie Lynn could wind up in a mental hospital just like Britney! Why? Because the media is driving them insane! These women can't go ANYWHERE without having to go on an ongoing battle against the photo and blood hungry blasphemers who terrorize them to the point of breakage, if not death. Filled with rumors and lies, this is turning in to America's worst addiction ever..watching a troubled woman kill herself? Honestly, does anyone in this country have a life?

In the future, when they ask what we were doing as America fell to pieces, we will all have to say we were watching Britney Spears.

There's a foreign war with no end in sight, sucking up lives and money. There are more prisons being built. Jobs are hard to find, and the ones you do find work you blind, with low pay and most likely, no benefits.

Yet, we watch Britney Spears.

It's kind of like watching cartoons in the TV room, while your house is burning down...
And the only reason i'm writing, is because I'm following it too. So I'm guilty as charged.

Let's pray to God. For Britney, her kids, and all of us, too. That's not just a pop star going insane, wheeled away in an ambulance... That's America.

My heart goes out to Britney. From what I've read, everyone close to her has taken advantage of her fame and fortune, to be unable to trust has to be extremely painful. Let's hope 2008 will bring some peace and happiness.

A few things:

First, it isn't always staffing who does the one-on-ones when patients are on a 5150 hold. Staff members are specifically designated to "sit" on patients who require close monitoring. If staff isn't readily available, somone is pulled from another department or someone is called in to work for that specific case. A "special needs patient" isn't one who necessarily attempted suicide. Patients can only be held up to 72 hours for psychiatric evaluation on a 5150 hold, which means they are a danger to themselves or others. At the end of the 72 hr window, it is determined if the patient will need further treatment.

Second, JCAHO doesn't handle confidentiality violations. The U.S. Dept of Health and Human Services HIPAA office handles violations of confidentiality.

Third, look at the smile on her face in the ambulance. She wants the attention, albeit at the price of her children, and she's getting it, as evidenced by all the comments, including mine.

I am not even a fan of britney. but its sad what she is going through...so for those who dont have a life LEAVE HER ALONE!!!...........as a mom i wouldnt want my children to be take away...........what people want to see next...is her commiting suicide because of all the attention she is being given...so i hope that is not what they want then if not then let her be

It would be pretty easy to narrow down which hospital staff made that comment. When a special needs patient comes in, they call either thier staffing department or nursing supervisor. Whomever would have rec'd the call sounds like the source to me. Since they said "We", I would guess it was someone in the staffing department.

The Joint Commission on Hospital Accrediation needs to get a complaint about the violation of confidentiality that occured with the media. They will have to investigate and reprimand the hospital for the inappropriate conduct if wrongdoing is found.

Wow... some of you are very sad sad individuals! The girl is SICK. Chemically Imbalanced! This affects every single decision you make in your life... she needs help and a heap of you come on here and mock her and tear her apart... why? Why even take the time to type it out if you hate her that much? Someone you know only by what the media feeds you?! As the old saying goes... "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"... Why am I on here? Because it breaks my heart to see this happening to her and her kids. Some of you are so heartless! Use a little grey matter before you spit out your worthless opinion. I am by no means a die hard fan of Britney Spears, but I'm not heartless either. For all of you that believe in God, bite your tongues and pray for everyone that is sick or hurting... physically AND MENTALLY.

OMFG! She needs to either kill herself now or stop with this BS that she keeps pulling! Enough already! She is an attention bleep who is washed up and doesn't have any real talent or life skills. With all of that money and help, she should be able to get along fine.

She should never be able to see her kids again and should have her tubes tied!!!!!!

I feel sorry for people who think they need to harass her for their own entertainment! Please leave the girl alone so she can get her life in a group!!! I can totally imagine having a nervous breakdown like hers, if I was in her situation. She needs our prayers not our critism!
