Monday night’s episode of The Hills started with Lauren Conrad and her crew at a Brody Jenner beach bash in Malibu (yes, the one where he broke his finger). And it ended with us concluding that the more than 60% of you (who voted in yesterday’s Water Cooler poll) are right: LC needs to stop worrying about her friends and get some McLovin’ of her own!
Brody’s BBQ (held at the chic Beachbody House Hosted by Silver Spoon) happened the same weekend that Brody’s ex-BFF/manager/stylist/publicist, Spencer Pratt, was to be whisked away by his lady to meet her conservative Colorado parents. While we can’t fault Pratt for trying, our only issue lies with the fact that Heidi Montag seemed to misrepresent her pops, explaining how she has always longed for “a guy like her dad,” and that she’s found him in Pratt. If that’s the case, we really have to wonder: what is it with that family?!
Back in La La Land, Lauren consoled her roomie Audrina after she miraculously realized what America already knew and kicked her beloved Justin-Bobby to the curb. The breaking point? In the immortal words of Lauren: “Homeboy wore combat boots - to the beach!” Well played, Audrina – one jerk is enough for Us to stomach this season.
Lest we forget Pratt’s heart-to-heart with Ma and Pa Montag, MTV should be ashamed of themselves for thinking it could carry an entire episode. The meeting consisted of nothing we haven’t seen before: Pratt using his mind-control techniques to convince those around him he’s “a good guy,” Heidi justifying her love for him, blah, blah, blah. Same old story. C’mon, MTV – we need substance.
Three episodes into The Hills’ third season and we are already over Miss Conrad assuming the “supportive BFF” role. First she offered Heidi a shoulder to cry on, now it’s Audrina’s turn? Girlfriend best start charging for her advice or be prepared for a lonely lifestyle. Has she ever heard the old adage “always a bridesmaid, never a bride?”

This show is soooo ARTIFICIAL and I do not watch it anymore, TOO much drama. It's too darn catty, and I am a female. At first you could sort of relate, Now, it's like, a fire cracker setting off in each corner. Too many bangs for one show. I comend you all that remain faithful, me I have had ENOUGH!

I don't understand why Lauren ever trusted Heidi. Heidi is just like Spencer, using her to get on TV. Her parents seem nice and normal and it must kill them to have a daughter who'd do anything to get on TV, plus deal with Spencer who is psycho.

Ok I admit JB is kinda hot, boots and all LOL He looks and acts like Depp, like that rebel, I don't care what you think attitude. But is is NO Depp and he is a jerk!! Nice acting though!!
Heidi was not cool saying Spencer is like her Dad, what a slap in Dad's face! And her Mom is just like her...trying to like Spencer,weird how that happens.
Lauren is fine. She is being a good friend, thats what us chics do for eachother. If she wanted a guy, she could get one in a second, she is smart and not dating like crazy. She knows she what needs to do.
Audrina will dump JB. She is too hot for her own good though.

Heidi's teeth are way too big for her face... and Spencer looked like a psycho when him and Heidi were having dinner at her parents' restaurant when he was talking about Lauren.
And did you see his chin pubes in the next episode. Wow. Whoever told him that was a good look is either out of their mind or just wants to make an even bigger a$$ out of him than he has on his own.

I agree with the recap. I feel like it is the second season over again, but worse. I cannot even watch a whole episode with my full attention. I hope it gets better and does not turn the way laguna did.

This season has been so good so far, I can't wait to see next week's episode. When Lauren was crying to Audrina at the beach, she said that Jason and Heidi didn't get along,and that they hated each other. Now Jason wasn't my favorite person, but u never heard him say to Lauren to pick between him or Heidi, unlike sleezeball Spencer. Spencer has made it impossible for Heidi and Lauren to ever be friends again, he wants her all to himself and he is never going to change. He seemed to be somewhat on his best behaviour last night with Heidi's parents, but for him that is not saying much. The look that he had in his eyes at some points of the show were scary, and how he answerd the Lauren questions at dinner were just creepy.
And note to Justin Bobby, combat boots and the beach don't mix

About lauren butting in-
lauren is only being a good friends realy friends tell people the truth there not going to lie and she isnt in all her friends relationships shes just looking out for them espically when they need advice
Heidi is a nobody-
Heidi and Spencer are not celebritys or stars and if i saw them walk down the street id throw a shake at them also at least lauren does charity work and what do they do ohh lets see HEIDI GETS A BOOB AND NOSE JOB . I have to admit this is th efirst season for me and I'm already hooked lol! Although I hate Speidi also, I totally see MTV running with this for as long as they can and will eventually have their own show. I wouldn't be surprised at all.
I agree with 11:47 Anon. If your friends respect your opinions and are constantly asking you for them, you can't say Lauren is always in her business. Audrina asks her about everything! And let's face it...Audrina is not the brightest bulb around when it comes to men. This guy is only into her because of the show...that's all. They'll date again and he'll ditch her again...drama, drama!

I think Spencer is an abusive boyfriend on the low or in the making. He is very controling in a sneaky way. Once/If they get married Heidi will see what kind of person he is, I have seen this type of relationship one too many times. A hint to an abusive guy is he tries to isolate you from your closest friends and family so that you have no one else to turn to once the abuse starts. I really hope Heidi wakes up out of the daze Spencer has her in and sees what everyone else sees. She needs to take the advice of her mother and work things out with Lauren. Lauren is true friend and seems to read people very well. Everyone who says Lauren needs to stay out of her friends personal lives are not being real. When you live with someone their troubles become your troubles. And do you people realise that her friends come to her and vent so its only natural that she is going to defensive because she cares about them. Me and my friends are the same way because we are real friends and love each other. As for Audrina she will learn when the time is right what Mr. Justin Bobby is all about. Just rememeber that without heartbreak you will never know what real love is. I wish the best of luck and happiness to the whole cast of Hills.

what a psycho! spencer is seriously out of his mind. did u see the way he looked when he told heidis parents 'i want her(heidi) all to myself'? that guy really needs to get some help. i personally miss jordan, heidi's bf from the 1st season. i still dont understand why they broke up, but he was wayyyyy cuter then fake-teeth (spencer) and he actually treated heidi with respect.
as for audrina, i knew the whole thing with 'jobby' wanst going to last. he was just in it for tv.

I am in NO WAY WHATSOEVER trying to defend a piece of sh1t like Spencer, but he did NOT say, "I want Heidi all to myself" as if HE was saying it, he was telling Heidi's parents what he believes Lauren's problem is and why Lauren and Heidi aren't friends anymore. He also used that to justify why he and Lauren don't get along. I don't think it worked because Heidi's parents didn't look too convinced. I wish to the sweet Lord above he had said it in that manner because I think Heidi's dad would've kicked his a$$ all the way back to the Crested Butte airport, but he didn't. And to all everyone who thinks Lauren is being too involved in her friends love lives...back off! Have YOU ever had a roommate with a boyfriend like Audrina or Heidi? Lauren was absolutely right in all of her observasions, and it's her friends coming to her for advice and approval, which is pretty nice to have when you live with someone and you're in each others lives all the time. It would be awesome to like your roommates boyfriend. If they're spending time with your roommate then you're spending time with the boyfriend, too. It's NOT absolutely necessary to like the guy, but it you do...My old roommate used to tell me if she liked who I was seeing if I asked her and she was always kind, but honest. And she was always right. The first night I went out with this one guy, she met him and told me I was going to marry him. She was right!

My question is, how the hell does Heidi afford her lifestyle? Though her parents look to have a comfortable living, it just doesn't seem to fit the rich lifestyle their daughter enjoys. The apartment her and Lauren live in rents for more than $4500 a month and her clothing, clubbing etc. have to cost a fortune!
