I'm am so saddened by the death of this fine young actor. It shouldn't have happened, but it did. I've been in the same boat he was, unable to sleep, mind churning, wanting to take something to help me sleep. However, I figured out that it was the HYDROCODONE I had to take for a back injury due to a car accident keeping me awake. So I had to grit my teeth and bear the pain after 6:00 pm so that I could sleep. My brother also, when he had pancreatic cancer, was unable to sleep and guess what? He was on HYDROCODONE too!!!!! They switched him to CODEINE and then he could sleep!!!
To me, it's obvious this young man took too many of these pain pills on a regular basis – hence the insomnia. In initial reports, 3 of the prescriptions were from when he was in Europe and the other 3 were from the USA. So he didn't get them ALL from the same doctor. And if he had, it could be that he told the doctor the first ones weren't working, so the doc prescribed different ones. But to take oxycodone and hydrocodone, you would have to be in some pain. If he didn't have headaches or back aches, then he was possibly faking it to obtain meds. My stupid A$$ sister does it all the time.
About Mary-Kate Olsen... from what I understood, initially it came out that the apartment Heath was renting was owned by her. This has since been hushed up. That, for me, explains why Mary-Kate was called initially by the massage therapist. Also the number was programmed in his phone.
I'm not saying I know everything, but I choose to believe that Heath Ledger died of an accidental overdose. He didn't intend to kill himself or there would have been higher doses in his system. And it's possible that it wasn't necessarily the mixture of the 6 drugs that killed him, but that he took higher doses of some of them during the day and then the other ones before he went to bed. It's a sad, sad tragedy.
