I also want to applaud her for promoting Breastfeeding....yes, people look up to her (being a celebrity) and to promote this type of "mothering" and keeping her baby's best interest is a breath of fresh air in the Hollywood scene....

Midway through an exhausting world tour promoting The Sweet Escape, Gwen Stefani is still going strong. The 37-year-old married mom and musician spoke to UK paper The Guardian about husband Gavin Rossdale, her neuroses and having son Kingston on the road with her. For more about Gwen's opinions, from breast-feeding to returning to No Doubt, read on!
On her marriage to Gavin Rossdale:
"It's one of those mad love affairs that you can't live with and you can't live without, and you just keep going and going. And time goes by and you get the rocky times then you get the intense love times, then you get the reward of having the baby. It's just this ongoing saga. I'm interested to see what's going to happen next, you know?"
On bringing 15-month-old son, Kingston, on tour:
"If I had to leave [Kingston] at home and not bring him with me everywhere then I wouldn't do this. I know that's not going to last, and he's going to get more demanding and there will be school and stuff. But for now I get to do it all."
On the decision to keep breast-feeding:
"I don't know when I'm going to stop breast-feeding, I'll just keep going while I can - like, he's getting his teeth so it is a little bit scary. He's bitten me a few times! [Breast-feeding] is just obviously really convenient with my lifestyle."
On feeling neurotic and keeping in shape:
"I try not to be but I'm super-neurotic about diet. I'm neurotic about trying not to be neurotic! I'm like every other girl. I have to try really hard my whole life to try to be fit. And I'm super-vain. And I want to wear cute clothes. You know, I was chubby when I was a little girl. And I have all those issues everyone else has. But I try not to. And I've learnt over the years that it's such a waste of time. And people like me whether I'm a little bit fatter or not."
On plans to reunite with No Doubt:
"It would be ridiculous to say there was no tension. Because my solo career has been going on and on. It was never supposed to be this long."
On what's next:
"Make babies, make music. I'm on repeat mode."

Gwen and Gavin are going to raise great kids. They seem to have good morals and values compared to most parents. Gwen obviously will be there for her son and that is what young children need. The parents need to make time and be there for the kids.

me personally, i was very committed to breastfeeding both of my children, and so is gwen obviously. thats all i was saying so no one should take such offense. I was mainly talking to the people saying its gross or weird after a year old. and yes you do have to be committed to do that. and there is scientific proof of the benefits for babies being smarter.no one said your child wasn't

Your comment on not being committed if you don't breastfeed is just stupid. Did you ever think that some people can't do it, or maybe a baby wanted nothing to do with breastfeeding. My son hated laying in the position he had to be in to do it, so we didn't. Has nothing to do with how committed I am. He is my WORLD! And as far as being smarter if they are breastfed, my 3yr old didn't and right now he is at a 5 to 6yr old level with speaking, counting and putting sentences together. Think before you speak!!

10:30 Trisha...I take offense to your comment that people who don't breastfeed aren't committed to their babies. There are a myriad of reasons why people choose (or the choice is taken from them ) not to breastfeed. Think before you write.

some people are just idiots and dont know what they are talking about. most of the peoplesaying "gross" about breast feeding have any idea what its really about. I guess it just depends on how committed you are to your baby. Lots of doctors think its great to breastfeed until age 2. Look it up. I did.

Um, breast feeding is not creepy. Good for Gwen, it is the best thing for Kingston. He may get most of his nutrients from food, but there are some anti-oxidants and fats that breast milk is the best source of. I still breast feed my 8 month old and plan to do so for a while, not just pumping, but actual breast feeding.
That said, in collage I had a boyfriend’s mom actually say something like: I blame myself for him being a boob man, I breast feed him too long” This was not a drinking cool mom, she did not even seem to thing this sort thing did not need to be said. It was way creepy of her!

ewwww, i understand that brest feeding is good for you baby i did until my baby was like 13months old but i think i stoped actually BREST feeding him when he was like 6 months old i gave it to him in a bottle don't you think that kinda triggers something in that babys head about sucking on his mom's boob when he has teeth, and can walk and now start to talk shoot he can mostlikely jump up on her lap and get some for himself!

I think she's great. I had no idea she was still breastfeeding. I did until my daughter was about 2 1/2. Her doctor had told me it wasn't necessary but that it wasn't harmful either as long as she was eating food. My sister always criticized me saying she was too old and that I should stop. I'm glad I never listened. My daughter rarely gets sick, even if she's around other sick children like my sister's kids. Her youngest got sick two weeks after birth. He's been sick almost every other month. I truly believe breast milk is the best milk. Good for Gwen. Maybe Britney should take some notes.
