Mayor Christian Estrosi of Nice, France, has made the Jolie-Pitt twins' birth official.

On Sunday, he showed off Knox Leon's birth certificate outside the Fondation Lenval hospital, where Knox and sister Vivienne Marcheline were born Saturday.

The certificate reads that Knox was born at 6:27 p.m on July 12.

Knox is the 3,702 registered birth in Nice for 2008.

The certificate was signed by the mayor and by Brad Pitt, who used his initials "WBP" (William Bradley Pitt).

"On behalf of the inhabitants of Nice, I congratulate the happy parents, the most famous couple in the world, who have chosen our city for this happy event," Estrosi said. "We are truly honored and thankful to have them here.

"I would also like to congratulate the four brothers and sisters of the newborns who are true 'Niçois' citizens," he added.

Estrosi told Usmagazine.com that he'd be "honored" if Pitt and Jolie allowed their twins to be French citizens.

Said Estrosi: "They can make this decision, of course!"
