The last director to work with Heath Ledger is thrilled that their film will be released.
"I am delighted that Heath's brilliant performance can be shared with the world," The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus director Terry Gilliam said in a statement.
Gilliam enlisted Jude Law, Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell to finish scenes involving Ledger's character.
"I am grateful to Johnny, Colin and Jude for coming on board and to everyone else who has made it possible for us to finish the film," Gilliam said.
"Each of the parts played by Johnny, Colin and Jude is representative of the many aspects of the character that Heath was playing," the film's producers said. "Since the format of the story allows for the preservation of his entire performance, at no point will Heath's work be modified or altered through the use of digital technology."
Filming on Parnassus has resumed in Vancouver.
Ledger, 28, died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs on Jan. 22.
Following news over the weekend that Ledger left everything to his parents and sisters in an outdated will, the actor's father assured that Michelle Williams and Matilda "will be taken care of."
