Lindsay Lohan has been the butt of many jokes after being arrested for the second time in two months for driving under the influence. But her mother Dina isn’t laughing.
In an interview with The Insider, Dina Lohan strikes back at Jay Leno for lampooning her daughter on his talk show Tuesday.
"In regards to the Leno show, I respect Jay, but it wasn't funny. This is our life here and addiction isn't funny," Dina says in the interview, which airs Thursday.
Lindsay was scheduled to be a guest on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno but cancelled just hours prior to her appearance after she was arrested earlier that morning for cocaine possession, driving with a suspended license and driving under the influence.
In Lohan’s place, actor-comedian Rob Schneider dressed up to look like Lohan while he mocked her hard-partying ways.
The actress only turned 21 last month but has already had two stints in rehab since January. "I pray for the thousands of families going through this," says Dina. "Teen drug addiction runs rampant and we are not the only family suffering from this. My heart goes out to families going through this pain."
Though Lindsay’s little sister, Ali, 13, sent an email to 24sizzler.com on Wednesday addressing Lindsay’s recent troubles, Dina tells The Insider that they will not be giving any more interviews in the near future.
"This is a private matter and every phone is ringing off the hook. Everyone wants a story from us," says Dina. "This is a personal, private matter and I chose not to speak to the press in respect for the family at this time."

Pitiful... this story gets worse by the minute. La Lohan has been whoring for the cameras for years and now they are crying foul for comedians lampooning the mess she's in?? Come on, people... her mother painted that target on her forehead and now they don't want any publicity. While I agree that the Leno spot was not funny, Rob Schneider is not funny, but you can't have it both ways, prancing for the cameras every waking moment and then complaining about the intrusion. I for one have had enough of these over- indulged, ill-behaved young ladies and would be perfectly happy to never see another word written about them. If her mother really wants her daughter out of the spotlight, then keep your mouth shut, close ranks around your kid, and get her the help she needs. Why in the world would you invite more attention to her and issue any statement... go away and get the help she needs.

The family has a history of addiction so what does Dina do, put a bottle in her daughter hand. Addiction is no laughing matter it is in my family and my kids understand that. On a cruise my 18 yr old was legal to drink he chose not to because he know if he start he may not be able to stop..Dina stop blaming other and look in the mirror, your daughter fame did not do this to Lindsey, you and your party life style caused this..Get help for yourself and than help your kid's clean up...Everyone here knows what will happen to Lindsey if you don't stop being her manager and start being her mom...
