FACEBOOKWOOT WOOT!! i am sooo happy helio won DWTS!! helio is my FAVORITE IRL driver and the only reason why i watched the show this season. i was jumping off the floor happy to find out he won!! i am sad to hear they called off their wedding, but it still leaves me a chance with helio!! =) haha.....hopefully the dancing with the stars championship will fuel his hunger for another championship and hopefully helio will win the 2008 IRL championship!! love ya, love ya, love ya long time!! As he celebrates his Tuesday victory on Dancing With the Stars, Helio Castroneves has some sad news at home: He and his fiancée, business executive Aliette Vazquez, have called off their engagement.
Her rep, Howard Bragman, released the following statement to Usmagazine.com:
"This is a personal decision and I ask the media to respect the privacy of Miss Vazquez and her family. She has no plans to talk to the media, but reserves that right if she needs to clarify misinformation or defend her reputation."
The two — who had been together for more than six years — were engaged for one year. They had planned to wed in November.
“It was time to let go,” he told Extra of the split.

People Magazine had an interview with him about a month ago in which he was not very complimentary of his fiancee, or about getting married, or about being committed to her at all. So this is not a surprise to me. Add to that he gets named one of People's Sexiest Men Alive AND he wins Dancing with the Stars; his ego is so huge, his driving helmet won't fit for the next racing season!

It was inevitable that things were not going to work out for these two. Surely, they had their reasons for waiting almost 6 years to marry and its quite possible that those reasons played a large part in their split. His being teamed up with a beautiful woman whom he had a spark with probably puts things in perspective for him, a 'wrench in the gears' if you will. No man is stolen. He goes where he wants to and if he was happy in his relationship it wouldnt matter how beautiful or charismatic the woman was...he would still be fully aware he already had something good at home and not act on it. At least they figured this out before the wedding and before kids were brought into the picture.
