Britney isn't the only Spears surprised by Jamie Lynn's pregnancy.
Their father Jamie is "furious" with Jamie Lynn and ex-wife Lynne for selling the story of her pregnancy to OK! magazine, a source close to the family tells Usmagazine.com.
Jamie Lynn and Lynne broke the news to OK! – infamous for multi-million dollar payouts to celebrities – for an unspecified amount.
"He put his foot down and refused to take any money and 'profit off of his children,'" the source says. "Lynne didn't care."
Jamie is "devastated" by the news, says the source. He's "extremely depressed" and "feels Jamie Lynn ruined her life."

Teens today have so many more opportunities in life than in the past, so what completely boggles my mind is, you're smart enough to know about birth control, but do not use it. You are not using your brains to their fullest potential, as seen by some of these posts I have read. My advice to you: Stay in school and learn the most you can. Keep your legs closed. If you can't keep your legs closed, go to Planned Parenthood! Jamie Lynn makes pregnancy look glamourous, like most of these celebs. But guess what? How many of you have the MONEY it will take to clothe, feed and raise a baby like she does? Raising a baby alone and with no money is no picnic. Think before you do the deed.

I believe that having children is one of the best things that can happen to a woman..not a child. I just pray that she doesn't ruin the baby's life. sorry jamie but i used to think that you was a person to look up too but knowing that im older and far from having a kid i believe your following in your sisters foot steps at least she didn't have a kid at a young age. zoey101 was a good show for good and innocent girls im so glad your not on it anymore. I have to agree with what 10:12 AM Joanne said. Only thing that I think she should have commented on further, was just how tough it really is to be a mom so young. Yes it has it's rewards, but I'm sure it would be that way no matter when I became a mom. I am on state aid, the dad has disappeared, and my family are only able to help with babysitting. (Which is huge, if you've bothered to check day care costs anytime lately). I can no longer just pick up and go out with my friends, talk on the phone all day, or go to the mall or movies. Life is so much harder with kids at this age. I wanted to go away to college, but I had to settle for a community college because of cost and had to be near family to help babysit. The sad thing is that I am one of the lucky ones who actually still gets to go to school. If I could do it over, I would wait until I got out of college to have my beautiful daughter. I don't regret having her, only the circumstances. I definitely recommend birth control to all teens and everyone due to not only pregnancy, but diseases that will end your life in a heartbeat. Don't glorify but be honest about how hard it really is to be teen moms and dads. Honestly, just look at the peoples comments that are saying it is OK and great to be teen parents. Most of you are swearing, aren't able to put a sentence or argument together, or simply can't spell. Jamie Lynn had the opportunity to have it all and be a great role model, but didn't take herself or her responsibility seriously enough. That's the fact of the matter.

Beyond the abortion issue, which I'm glad that she isn't having, the real issue for me is what type of example is she setting for other teens? Yes, quite a few teens have had the struggle of bringing up children before they are old enough to vote. The difference here is that she has put herself in the public eye and into millions of homes of young teens by way of her "Zoey 101" Nickelodean TV show. Teenage years are hard enough to get through without mixed messages of what is OK to do. Jamie will have the money for nannies, healthcare, baby needs and the ability to pay for her education and living expenses while doing so. That is a FAR cry from the norm for most teens going through this. The vast majority will have to turn to their parents to help support them through every aspect of bringing a child into the world. Most will never go to college, and will struggle throughout life. Not the best advantages for the children to be brought up in. Yes, Jamie had the right to do as she pleased, however, she was given the "Golden Ticket" by which to earn a living and be famous. That should have given her every reason to be more responsible and set the example that all parents hope that their kids get from "nickelodean" shows especially.

You go Jamie! I know tons of teenagers who have had children, and they are fine parents. EVERYTHING happens for a reason. i believe that you will be great if you put your everything into it. Raising kids isn't easy, i'm not saying that at all. But i do believe that God will help you through. As far as everyone else goes, don't be so cruel. I'm certain everyone knows a teen parent. RELAX. She'll be okay. At least wait and see before you judge. It's not in our hands. Sex happens. Every baby should be considered a gift, not a burden.
