I don't agree with the phrase typical parents. Giving in to your child's every desire is basically not setting limits and letting your child run the show. I believe children should have some freedoms in order to express themselves, but should also have limits and be provided with options in order to establish structure and understanding of what is expected of them. Setting reasonable limits does not hinder one's ability to express themselves or to establish a sense of identity. We all raise our children differently, and we all want to feel a sense of satisfaction that we are rearing our children to not just be mere acclimated members of society, but to be strong individuals with a good head on their shoulders to guide them in making the many difficult decisions they will encounter in their lifetime. Most if not all parents want their children to love who they are, and always stay true to themselves. To follow their dreams and not let anything stand in their way of achieving their goals and aspirations. So with that said saying "No" will not ruin your child or his/her ability to be creative/expressive. And saying "yes" or giving in so that your child won't be upset is just setting them up for dissapointment and rejection when they are older. I'm sure most of you reading this will agree.

Everyone knows that Suri Cruise, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ adorable little daughter, leads a charmed existence but her upbringing as a Scientologist remains largely a mystery. How does the religion started by L. Ron Hubbard influence Suri’s life on a daily basis?
Us Weekly has learned that while Suri -- who as a baby was breastfed and nursed on a mixture of barley water, milk and corn syrup which Hubbard advocated as being healthier than formula and breast milk -- is too young to take classes at the Scientology Centre, the 18-month-old is constantly surrounded by believers, including her two nannies.
“Tom doesn’t like associating with people who aren’t Scientologists,” says an insider.
Additionally, Holmes, 28, and Cruise, 45, have a hard time saying no to Suri. But it’s not simply because they’re pushovers.
“It’s all about being positive and supportive,” says the couple’s friend (Hubbard advised parents to “try to be the child’s friend.”) As for discipline, one former church member tells Us that Scientologists do not scold their children, but instead explain that bad behavior (like throwing a toy) is the “wrong action.” (A Scientology rep tells Us, “How a parent disciplines their child is left up to the parent.”)
Cruise and Holmes, says their pal, are very lenient and do not like to give Suri too many rules: “Suri pretty much does whatever she wants, whenever she wants. If she fusses before bed, they let her stay up later. If they want her to go swimming and she cries, they’ll take her out. If she whines about food, they’ll ask her what else she wants to eat. They always want to please her.”
In other words, they’re typical parents.

The genius of Scientology is, when you DIRECTLY QUOTE their scripture, it sounds so loony nobody believes you.
Do a google on "Guernsey-type mothers". You will be *amazed* what these people actually believe.
And now Scientology just has too much money to be stopped.
It sounds like ALL of YOU are the crack pots...envious and full of hatred for people you don't even know. what ever YOUR religion you need to practice it and ask your CREATOR for forgiveness and how to be a better non-judgemental being...and NO, Im NOT a scientologist.
I'm a Scientologist and I'll tell you that this crazy story about Xenu is total crap. Some people in the press keep saying that this Xenu story is what Scientologists believe. This is such garbage and it's a story repeated over and over and is intended to keep people from looking into what Scientology actually is.
So why would some in the media intentionally try and keep people away from Scientology you ask? Because most media is well paid by the pharmaceutical industry. They see Scientology as a threat to their profits because it is. Scientology has many, many answers that work and are practical. Let's look at 1 example of how the psychiatric drugging industry is hurt by Scientology technology... Let's assume you know someone who has been depressed for several months or even years. Did you know that with Scientology you can literally snap him out of his dark days and make him feel happy again, sometimes in less than five minutes. How could this be? Because Scientology helps and works like nothing else before it. There is no need to be on a psychiatric drug everyday for the rest of your life.
This is just one of thousands of solutions Scientology has and it would take literally books to tell you all it has to offer and can do. Give a Scientologist just a few minutes of your time and you'll quickly realize what a sham psychiatry and the psychiatric drugging business is. It's OK to be skeptical about Scientology, but don't assume that what you've been told about it is actually true. Just ask yourself would all these celebrities be involved in it if didn’t help them and others tremendously?

Tiny Tom Mapother is a control freak that still cannot read. The reason he first joined the whack cult of $cientology was that he thought they could magically help him to overcome his boyhood dyslexia and help him to read.
It didn't work.
He STILL has 'readers' assist him with every project, reading his lines to him and helping him memorize lines. Of course they aren't studio employees - they are $cientologists who aren't paid at all but minister to the Tiny Queen gratis, paying off their debts for 'auditing' and other Thetan delights.
He and his Hole Katie are currenly building a Thetan bomb-proof shelter in rural Colorado since they don't want to join in the planned $cientology mass-suicide scheduled for sometime in 2008.
You read it here first, people.
Hail XENU!
This is an incredible video of the Reincarnation of a WWII pilot. It's absolutely unbelievable!

This is such BS. None of this speculation is true to begin with. Come on people. Do you really think Tom and Katie have confided in the person who write this stupid article in the first place? Learn how to sort out truth from fiction. Use your common sense.
Maybe Tom and Katie are just lucky because they are rich and can provide everything to their child and follow every rule in their Scientology beliefs. But how about the poor impoverish people who cannot provide everything to their children? If their kids don't want to eat the food in front of them, where are the parents going to get another food, just to let their kids really enjoy their meal and eat? Look for another trash can and dig in for some food?
And how are you going to discipline your kid on their teens if you are not going to start it while their young. I know parents love to spoil their child but they have to set limitations too.
listen, it's all about penile implants not breasts filled with heaving amounts of steaming mommy milk. tom wants to be a man and unfortunately his manhood is short much like his stature. therefore he has sought out a little known swedish company to adjust the size of his pee pee during purrrrtime with katie. presently all he does is attach two wires to a double AA battery and BINGO his twigg becomes a frothy staff of northern canadian oak. now he can plunge deep into the ripe moundage of katie's cheesecake surprise zone. of course tom will only use scientology sex etitquette during the making of "love". he will refer to katie as: sourpeachsnack and will only mount her doggy style because it's what 7th degree thetans feel most comfortable with while ejaculating their male pollendust.
First of all, what the hell is US doing running a story about how Scientology tells it's members how to raise their children when they quote a rep for the religion that says how you decide parent is up to you??? LOTS of parents decide that yelling and spanking their children is not something they want to do. What's so wrong with explaining to your child why what they did was wrong, instead of spanking them and throwing them in time out? Don't get me wrong, I think some parents are too easy on their kids these days, but when initially correcting them, I think you should be calm and explain why you don't want them doing what they did. How is that so different from what Scientology SUPPOSSEDLY teaches?
Also, it sounds like Tom has lots of Friends in Hollywood that aren't Scientologists: Will/Jada, Mark/Jennifer, the Beckhams...
These two have to be some of the oddest people on the face of the earth! You have screwed up your life, you need to let your child grow and decide if she wants this weirded out religion to be her own.
Don't tell your child no! And we woner wha the hell is wrong with our children today...you tell the little heifer, yeah you're going to bed now, yes, you will not behave like a spoiled brat etc. Suri will one day make Britney Spears and Lindse Lohan look like angels.
Hey hellcat, wake up and run away with your child before Tom makes you look anymore stupid and robotic.
Hey? Where are his OTHER children?????? Nicole is smart, she left him because of his radical beliefs and stays away in a far away land with her kids, good girl!
Katie, one day reality will slap you hard in the face. until then, all I can say about you and Tom is ....Ewwww.
whoa, why am i not surprised. delusional. what else can someone say? poor scientologists raising their children in a fair tale! oh why was i so unlucky, tough catholic upbringing--told nothing but no!
All this talk about how great Tom's other kids are... How do YOU know? Really, how? Do you know them personally? Do you feel you know they are great, well adjusted kids because you have seen a few pictures of them? Because an article or two say they are? YOU DONT KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If Tom's other children are an indicator of his parenting skills than I think he deserves an A+.
What else is there to say.
GOOD LORD
I hope ALL parents aren't like that or all kids are going to be uncontrollable BRATS as adults
PREPARE TO BE SHOCKED BY THIS SITE!
YOU WILL THANK ME FOR THIS.........

Give the brat a slap. Soon go to sleep, shut up whining and eat it's dinner. And I'd give travolta a cock punch if his spoiled loinfruit drew on my walls. A bit of discipline never did me any harm. Thank you - A. Hitler.
Tom, Katie and Suri are the perfect happy family. They are the least weird looking and acting family in Hollywood. My family is Catholic and weird as hell.
I'm signing up for scientology and space ships if this is where it gets you.
Tom Cruise is a psychopath.
she looks just like her mom
I remember when John Travolta's first child was born. I read stories about them not telling their child no, and no one around them was allowed to tell them no either. I read that the child was writing on the walls in an office somewhere and when an employee told him to stop. John was pissed and told her to never do it again because they did not want to hurt the child's creativness.
This is why so many kids have issues these days...Parents are NOT meant to be the child's friends, they are their Teachers. They are responsible for making sure they grow up to be healthy, reasoning human beings. With no discipline, no rules and the kid doing anything they want, it's going to be nothing but trouble ahead.
anise prim. soothes the stomach and aids w digestion & prevents bloating & gas in babies (and surely on older kids too/adults)..so it relaxes u 'indirectly'...chamomile is good 2 for the tummy & relaxation..
well, the kid's 5 now, will the tea still calm her? lol Glad I could provide some community service! ;) But, I must say, it wasn't so bad that I didn't do it again..and want to do it again (a third time)...and, for me, the labors were relatively easy (some discomfort, but no meds)...good luck on whatever you choose!
* know
hahaha..well, i'm gonna make sure i fill up my 'stash' of protective measures after This conversation...lol..
uh, "foldable nipples"...i'm afraid to ask for more info..lol..i don't think i wanna any more...about colics..my friend had the same problem w his kid..u should try some anise tea (as prepared for babies)..& there r drops for that stuff 2..the mom also went on a diet of no dairy and only select types of veggies while nursing...and that seemed to help the baby w the colics...
Chantal - I always called them "foldable nipples..." nice, eh? They DID go back...
My daughter was pretty sick from the start (colic/screaming for 6 months, around the clock, unless she was nursing or sleeping..so I did whatever it took to keep her quiet...I mean, screaming like you were riping her arms off!). We just became quite bonded, and it worked for us...everyone's different, and no one has a right to judge that you are wrong if YOU "only" choose a year...which is a long time to many!
well, I got pregnant again within 4 months of ending the nursing, so the old boobs have had a workout!
11.18 uha...a long time to bounce back from..oh oh that doesn't sound so good...but u said it does eventually bounce back..
well, who knows what to expect w all that..it's a scary thing that's for sure..
Suri does look a lot like Tom...she's cute..
um, can't you be positive and supportive and STILL say 'no' (ie set limits)?
as much as i hate to admit it, the kid DOES look like cruise!
