Black Crowes singer, Chris Robinson, 39, has filed for divorce from his wife of five and a half years, actress, Kate Hudson, 27, in Los Angeles Superior Court.
In official court documents, Robinson cites "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the dissoulution of the marriage. The singer is seeking joint custody of the couple's son, Ryder, 2, and is not requestiong spousal support.
Robinson and Hudson announced they were seperating on August 14 of this year after rumors began to spread that Hudson was involved with her You, Me and Dupree costar, Owen Wilson.
In a case of life imitating art, Hudson married her rock star husband at 21 following her successful turn as a beautiful groupie in the the movie, Almost Famous. Robinson was 12 years her senior.
The singer has retained divorce atorney to the stars, Laura Wasser. Wasser is the same lawyer that has represented Nick Lachey and Angelina Jolie. She is also currently representing Britney Spears in her divorce from her husband, Kevin Federline.
While Robinson was recently spotted kissing a mystery brunette, Hudson has been half a world a way in Australia shooting the comedy Fool's Gold with her former How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days costar, Matthew McConaughey.

I am rather sad to see this. It has been a while since this has come out, but I really thought that both of them had a connection together. I think they are both really beautiful people, and I am wishing them the best. Hopefully, in time, they will realize that love never dies, regardless of who comes between them. Rider was made from love. Peace.

As a photographer who followed Owen and Kate the "whole" time they were on promotional duties in Sydney I personnally saw nothing from their "Body Language" to suggest there was anything going on between them other than two professional actors promoting a film in a foreign country. I'm sure they are friends and have a good friendship as many men and women do but as to if they had a sexual relationship "THE JURY IS STILL OUT". At all times both were accompanied by their own "Posse" and I seriously doubt Kate's girlfriends would give her the time to have a secret sexual tryst. I DID NOT accompany them to their rooms or know about any problems that may have existed between Kate and Chris beforehand but I tend to believe her when she maintains there was NOTHING HAPPENING other than "WORK DUTIES". Silly Chris is guilty of believing vicious rumours when he should have shown more faith in his lovely wife. If I was him, I'd shave off that ridiculous beard and get down on wounded knee for being such an idiot and ask for a reconcilliation. I don't live with her so maybe I don't know but it appears to me for the sake of their family,personal happyness and RYDER, maybe they should have another serious talk, try, attempt anything to avoid another horrible "Hollywood" divorce.

Good for him. Owen Wilson has already moved on and Kate is left like Meg Ryan was when she cheated with Russel Crowe. When will people learn that affairs don't work. If you are unhappy in your current relationship, fix it or get out but don't be a chicken sh*t and cheat. So typical of instant gratification America. The only one I feel sorry for is the kid. The ironic thing is that she was all gung ho about staying married because of what she had went through when her parents divorced. Ironic that she would turn around and do the exact same thing as her mother and cheat with a co star. Guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

I am married and I have children and I can't imagine "taking" my kids daddy away from them...I wonder if there was trouble in her marriage and that's why she strayed?? They never seemed to have marriage problems based on what we see but who knows what goes on behind closed doors?? I think, once there are children, everything in a marriage changes. It's got to be so miserable to break up the family.

Is she surprised? After all of her public displays of affection with Owen? I don't understand why people do not end one relationship before beginning another. Leave because the relationship is wrong, work on yourself to discover why your relationship didn't work out before starting up with someone you found more exciting in the moment. Doesn't anyone think about the kids? Kate and Owen will not last, but hey, at least she will have lots of photos in her album of the relationship.

It's a shame, but it seems like it will be a quick and mess free divorce. He doesn't want her money, I doubt she needs his and he is asking for joint custody. So unless there are details we don't know about, I would guess this is just another Hollywood marriage that fizzled. I'm not surprised with the age difference and the amount of time he tours and she films.
