I think its ignorant for sumbody 2 assume that every man likes the same type of woman. sum women look good @ a size 2 and sum look good @ a size 12 it jus depends on how u carry urself. i remember wen i was 30 pounds lighters sum people said i was 2 thin now that im heavier the exact same people say im 2 big... my point is u have 2 be confident and be the weight that ur comfortable at it shouldnt matter wat others think.

I am glad Whitney won she is so pretty. Anya was really pretty also but Whitney had a girl next door look. I am glad they changed it up. But peopled need to grow up I am a size 13/14 and my best friend is a size 2/3 and she was born petite and I was born with a little meat. Everybody is pretty in there own way whether your a size 0 or 20. So stop calling people anorexic or fat, they are who they are let them be.

idc what anyone says, nice full tits and asses are HOT. more guys are attracted to girls like whitney on an instinctual level, because full hips and breasts are a sign of fertility. it's all biology people! i'm a 36-24-36 with full C cups and wear a size four pants, and at 5'4 115 lbs i'm considered too "short and fat" to model. f*** that. i look great in a swimsuit. i know more girls have bodies similar to mine rather than to these giraffe tall titless 00's (less than one percent of the population of girls in the US has that body type NATURALLY, a lot of them get that way through dangerous eating disorders and drug use). it's about time the media consider the other 99% of women. not that i have a problem with twiggy people, but i think that the majority of models should represent the majority of women. women with breasts and butts.

I am all for ANTM naming a full-figured girl as the winner, but I don't think Whitney was deserving. I think it was Cycle 10, and the show was catching flack for not ever naming a full-figured girl as America's Next Top Model. I think she had the show won from the beginning. She is beautiful, but she doesn't look like a model. Few of her pictures were very good. I believe Anya was the true winner this cycle.

So... From day one (Feb. 20th) I just knew whitney would win. WHY? Because it's Cycle 10 from 1 for crying out load and it was time to name a full figured model... A top model. NOT COOL WITH ME... And let me tell you why... ANYA deserved to win. Whitney is fake. So what if the skinny girls keep on winning. Most of them deserved it. I'm glad Tyra woke up. She even said NOT every top model deserved to win! So whats up with that? There's girls that make the show and just wanna leave it. Or girls who WANT it but don't SHOW it. Or plus sized models who just want to win to have the title as the first plus top model to win. And that was whitney. AN OPPORTUNIST! Girls who breathe, walk, talk, eat, sleep, dream and think modeling everyday (like myself) and who has a voice but is yet to be heard... are the ones getting dissed... Someone who can MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!! Come on yall... She wasn't even ecstatic about her win!!! Not like Niema, Eva, Danielle, Cari dee, Jaslene, and Saleisha was! Pissed me off... Wheres the love? Period point blank is that TYRA and THE PRODUCERS NEED TO PICK ME! SO WATCH OUT FOR STARissa on ANTM!

BTW... I totally respect Anya more as a person and a model. Whitney's not a role model... and I fasho can't relate to her!!

i think that whitney is ok but personally i respect anya more as a model. she was much better and whitney is too perky miss america-y. i think anya should have won tho.

Alrighty... my 2 cents (or 20 cents)

1. Glad Whitney won. Would also have been glad if Anya had won. Both are spectacular for different reasons and these two were my favorites of the bunch.

2. I do agree that Whitney having won does offer much food for thought on the whole "plus sized" issue. I am a small person (5'0" and hovering around 100 lbs). Even still, I do not look thin like the current norm of working models. Yes, I wear a size 0. I read that a number of thinner ladies on this blog are irritated that plus sized is referred to by many as being "real woman". I ask these ladies to keep in mind, however, that while some people are normally super thin, MOST are not. Furthermore, if a woman were to be in the midpoint of their BMI, they would not likely be a size 0 (unless they were 4'11" and under). I propose, therefore, that what is deemed to be "full figured" in the modelling industry is not so much "real woman" but "realistic woman".

The problem with the whole weight issue in the modeling industry is has nothing to do with the notion that some women are naturally thin, but that:
- typically larger or realistic woman are not able to make careers out of modelling solely due to their size, despite inherent beauty and talent.
- A vast majority of woman naturally are not nearly as thin as the majority of models. This makes those who are naturally medium or large feel flawed.
- The thin appeal for models only started in the 70s (Twiggy). Maybe it is time for the pendulum to swing back towards more balanced sizing, representing a more diverse range of physiques.

Putting aside her weightm which is all everyone is talking about, I really hate Whitney. She's so fake! The judges even said, time and time again, she seems so fake. She's a down right b*tch in the house, and never comes off real.
Look at those two pictures up there. The 17 one looks terrible, she can't smile and take a good picture because it looks effing FAKE. And the one below it? Even worse.

So thanks Tyra, for picking the "real american model". Sure, she's "natural", whatever, she's still a fake b*tch.

she wasnt made to appear thinner... she IS thin. I am 5'6 and no where a size 10 AND i weigh 150 lbs. She is thin but not to normal standards. I would guess 5'10 145-150 and size 8. shes hot.

Normal women are a size 8... when I was heavier and wore a size 8-10 (after pregnancy) those were the sizes that were always sold out!

It is still strange to see Whitney (size 8-10) be called 'plus size'. I see some of you posting here are pretty snitty while trying to prove you are skinny and eat everything you want and the rest of us are 'just jealous'. So to you, I say good for you. But just because your DNA fell that way does not make it common, so don't use your story to deny the millions of women who starve and vomit and exercise hours every day trying to fit the ideal 12-year-old-boy look that the media pushes so hard. (Sometimes they push 12-year-old-boy-with-implants look, it just depends on what type of media it is.) Real women have curves, and for good reasons. Every step like this will slowly wake people up.

I am soo HAPPY that an all american girl won....Cari Dee was pretty but very thin. Whitney portrays a normal person - she is not in my opinion a plus sized model. She's a little more than skin and bones! GO WHITNEY !!! CONGRADULATIONS!!!!!

I was surprised Whitney won because I don't think see looks like a high fashion model (not her size, her face). I agree with the poster that said she is mean-spirited. She came across very phony as the judging table, but her true colors were revealed in the house with the other girls. She was pretty mean and rude.

I'm sad that Anya didn't win. It has nothing to do with Whitney's size. I am a "full figured" woman, too. Anya was just so sweet and natural and genuine and positive; the oppostive of the way Whitney acted on the show. Other than her odd accent, Anya had everything an ANTM should have. I think Tyra and the producers just wanted to make a point that "bigger" girls can be models, too. Excellent point, but it was sad to let such a mean-spirited girl win just to make a point.
