A$AP Rocky Explains Scathing Rita Ora Diss: “She Caused a Lot of Grief”

ASAP Rocky and Rita Ora
A$AP Rocky caused controversy with his lyrics about Rita Ora.

A$AP Rocky has far more "F–kin' Problems" than those that he rapped about in 2012. The celebrated performer, 26, made waves earlier this week when he dropped his sophomore album, At. Long. Last. A$AP, and included a scathing diss of Rita Ora in the lyrics.

Rocky, who spit, "I swear that bitch Rita Ora got a big mouth / Next time I see her might curse the bitch out. Kicked the bitch out once cause she bitched out / Spit my kids out, j–zed up all in her mouth and made the bitch bounce," tried to explain away the lyrics in interviews.

The A$AP Mob rapper spoke to Sway Calloway about his controversial "Better Things" song, hinting at a bitter relationship with the British singer-actress, 24. The former MTV VJ read the lyrics to the track before asking Rocky, "Why… 'cause I like Rita Ora. What happened?"

"I do too!" he responded. "First off, This song, it's old. It's an old song. It's one of the older songs on the album. But what I will say is, I got into a lot of trouble over her at times when I didn't need to. She caused a lot of grief. So at that time, for me, it was just like… You know, for me, I said what I said."

"It was an old track. That was one of the joints that I feel like I recorded before Yams passed that I knew he really loved," Rocky continued, referencing his late collaborator Steven "A$AP Yams" Rodriguez, who died this past January. "Now, if you asked me another question, like, maybe I should've muted her name? Maybe I should've. But at the time, that's how I felt."

Rocky took the drama even further when a DJ asked him if he gave Ora a heads-up about the lyrics. "No," he shot back. "She didn't give me no heads-up!"

The star chose not to elaborate on the topic, but told BBC 1 Radio in a separate interview, "I'm just saying that when I was in a relationship and I did things with her that I wasn't supposed to do, she had a big mouth."

He hinted at a secret relationship with Ora in his interview with Calloway, but attempted to walk back his comments against the Fifty Shades of Grey star slightly.

"I got in trouble, that's what I'm gonna say," he explained. "When you get in trouble with women, I'm quite sure everybody can put two and two together. I got in trouble. I wasn't supposed to be doing things with her, I got in trouble. Put it like that. And she got me on purpose. It's girly stuff, but you know, at the end of the day, listen, I don't have nothing against her. It's not like I said, 'She's a terrible person and don't go listen to her music,' and stuff like that. I said what happened and yeah."
