When Rachel Weisz shared her pregnancy news in a New York Times story published on Friday, April 20, she knew one thing for sure.
“I’ll be showing soon,” said the 48-year-old Oscar winner. And she was right! Weisz, who is expecting her first child with Daniel Craig, revealed a baby bump in NYC on Monday, April 23. For the outing, Weisz chose a Sonia Rykiel knit maxi dress that accentuated her growing belly.
“Daniel and I are so happy. We’re going to have a little human,” the Disobedience actress gushed to The New York Times. “We can’t wait to meet him or her. It’s such a mystery.”
Weisz and the James Bond star, who have been married for six years, are both experienced with kids. She shares son Henry, 11, with her ex-fiancé Darren Aronofsky. Craig, meanwhile, is dad of Ella, 25, from his previous marriage to Fiona Loudon.
Weisz and Craig, 50, aren’t that couple who flaunt their love on social media though. In fact, they rarely speak about one another in public. “You have to protect your marriage,” she once told More magazine. “When you’re young, you tell your girlfriends everything. One of the great pleasures of not being an adolescent is that you don’t have to share everything. When you’re married, that door closes. The audience goes, and you’re in your own life.”
Weisz joins a solid club of celebrity moms who welcomed children later in life. Geena Davis gave birth to twins at 48 while Janet Jackson had her first at age 50.
