Think pink! Counting On star Jinger Duggar and her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, are expecting a baby girl.
“We are so happy to announce that we are having a baby girl!” Duggar, 24, and Vuolo, 30, wrote in a statement on the Duggar family’s website on Monday, April 9. “We could not be more excited and are eagerly anticipating meeting our little lady this Summer. We especially love thinking forward and realizing that she will have excellent role models in both of her grandmothers, who cannot wait to shower her with love – Jeremy and Jinger.”
Us Weekly exclusively revealed in January that Duggar is pregnant.
“The past 14 months have been the best of our lives as we have had the wonderful privilege of beginning our journey through life together in marriage,” the couple, who wed in November 2016, told Us at the time. “We both looked forward to the joys of marriage but neither one of us fully understood just how amazing the start of this journey would be. Truly, the Lord’s mercies are new every morning! Now, the journey has taken an exciting turn: We are expecting our first child!”
Duggar spoke to Us last month about preparing for their child’s arrival.
“At this point we haven’t done too much prep. Now that I’m halfway through my pregnancy, we haven’t really collected anything,” she revealed. “A friend of ours had some stuff they were getting rid of, so that was really nice because they were able to give us baby swings and things like that that we needed, but we haven’t started on anything as far as prep for the baby.”
Fans assumed that the pair were expecting a boy after they used blue chalk back in February for an Instagram post to announce that Duggar was 18 weeks along. “I just happened to use blue chalk that day and everyone automatically jumps to conclusions and it had nothing to do with that,” Duggar explained to Us on March 22. “The gender has not been known and so it’s like, we just put blue chalk on that and everyone thought, ‘Ah, I know what she’s having now.’”
“Jeremy is so happy. He’s just so excited that he’s gonna be a dad at this point,” she added. “He’s just really, really excited either way, whatever the baby is, he’s just so thrilled to be a dad.”
