Is Amy Schumer going to be a mom? The comedian sparked pregnancy speculation with her latest Instagram photo.
“@leesaevansstyle and i are cookin somethin Up,” the 37-year-old captioned a photo of herself in a red maxi dress with her arms around her stomach on Thursday, July 12. Schumer also included a photo of herself and her husband, Chris Fischer, laughing in front of a gorgeous view.
Fans were quick to comment on the photos, assuming that the post is a pregnancy announcement.
“Yay a mini Schumer!😍,” one fan wrote in the comments.
Another user commented, “Congratulations!!!! I am so happy for you and your hubby! I hope you do comedy specials about pregnancy and motherhood and marriage because i love you and you are so funny and smart. There are so many topics that mainstream (popular) comics don’t cover, and i think you can blow the roof off the joint with that stuff. Congratulations again, Mama! 😍.”
“Does this mean you’re pregnant! How exciting! Congratulations!!! X,” a third fan replied to the post.
Other fans were not convinced and pointed out that Schumer tagged stylist Lessa Evans in her caption, fueling speculation that the I Feel Pretty actress might be working on a clothing line.
“Cooking something up, tags fashion person…not pregnant, maybe looking to make body positive clothes,” one user wrote in the comments.
Another user commented, “I don’t think she’s pregnant! She tagged a designer.. maybe a new clothing line? Sheesh.”
Indeed, it turns out that some fans misunderstood and Schumer is not actually pregnant. Instead, she is “cooking” something up with Evans, who she tagged in the pic. She cleared up the rumors with a second Instagram post on Thursday.
“I am not pregnant,” she says in the clip before taking a sip of her drink. “It looked like I was pointing to a bump or something, but I’m not. Lessa Evans and I have created a clothing line for all sizes and shapes at a chill price point. That’s what I was trying to allude to, but thank you for thinking of my womb.”
Us Weekly exclusively revealed in February that Schumer and Fischer had tied the knot after a few months of dating. The couple wed outside a rented home in Malibu on February 13. A source told Us at the time that it was a “very chill wedding” and the nuptials were “thrown together last minute.”
Schumer confirmed on February 15 that she married the celebrity chef and denied rumors that she was pregnant. “2 things … No I’m not pregnant … and not gifts but thank you for asking,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.
