Shanna Moakler

Shanna Moakler is a model, actress and reality television personality best known for winning the Miss New York USA title, appearing in Pacific Blue and starring alongside her ex-husband, Travis Barker, on MTV’s Meet the Barkers. Moakler was born in Providence, Rhode Island, and spent much of her childhood in New England. She attended Barrington High School and was a competitive roller skater before pursuing modeling. After graduating, she first moved to Miami to pursue a career in modeling before eventually moving to Los Angeles.

Moakler began competing in pageants in the mid-1990s, quickly rising to prominence as a frequent pageant winner. After winning Miss New York USA in 1995, she finished as first runner-up at Miss USA that same year and assumed the Miss USA crown after Chelsi Smith won Miss Universe. Her growing profile led to acting opportunities and mainstream fame.

She went on to build a profile in the acting world, acting in projects such as Love Stinks (1999), Pauly Shore Is Dead (2003) and Seeing Other People (2004). On television, she’s appeared in shows including Meet the Barkers, Hollywood Exes, Dancing with the Stars and Celebrity Big Brother. In 2001, she was named Playboy‘s Playmate of the Month, further cementing her status as a pop culture figure. She later became involved in directing and producing state Miss USA pageants.

Moakler was engaged to boxer Oscar De La Hoya from 1998 to 2000, with whom she shares daughter Atiana De La Hoya (born in 1999). She married Travis Barker in 2004, and they welcomed son Landon Barker (born in 2003) and daughter Alabama Barker (born in 2005). Their family life was documented on Meet the Barkers before their divorce was finalized in 2008. Moakler began dating actor Greg Vaughan in 2024.
