Sasha Pieterse

Sasha Pieterse is an actress and singer best known for playing Alison DiLaurentis on Pretty Little Liars. Pieterse was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and moved to the United States with her family as a child. She was raised in Las Vegas before settling in Los Angeles where she was homeschooled, graduating at age 14. She began acting at a young age, first appearing in commercials and later landing television roles before she was a teenager.

Pieterse got her start on the TV series Family Affair before appearing in projects including House, The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl (2005) and Good Luck Chuck (2007). Her breakout role came in 2010 when she was cast as Alison DiLaurentis on Pretty Little Liars, which ran for seven seasons and made her an international star. She later reprised the role on the spinoff Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists.

The actress went on to compete on Dancing With the Stars, finishing in 10th place with dancer Gleb Savchenko. She later released country music, including the single “This Country is Bad” (2013) and published the cookbook Sasha in Good Taste: Recipes for Bites, Feasts, Sips & Celebrations (2019). Throughout her career, she also appeared in projects including Geek Charming (2011), Coin Heist (2017) and The Image of You (2024).

Pieterse got engaged to Hudson Sheaffer in 2015, and the couple married in Ireland in May 2018. They welcomed their son, Hendrix, in 2020.
