Sam Asghari

Sam Asghari (born Hesam Asghari) is an Iranian-American actor, model and fitness trainer best known for his acting career and his former marriage to pop star Britney Spears. Asghari was born in Tehran, Iran, moved to the United States with his father at age 12 and was raised in Southern California. He went on to attend Moorpark College, where he continued playing football.

Asghari was introduced to modeling by his sister and walked his first runway show for designer Michael Costello. He went on to model for publications including GQ and Men’s Health and launched a fitness business. He also received a 2019 Daytime Beauty Award for Outstanding Achievement in Fitness.

Asghari later earned acting credits on shows including NCIS, Black Monday, Hacks, Special Ops: Lioness, Hot Seat, Jackpot! and The Traitors. He also appeared in Fifth Harmony’s “Work From Home” music video and Spears’ “Slumber Party” music video.

Asghari met Spears while filming “Slumber Party” in 2016 and the pair began dating soon after. They got engaged in September 2021 and married in June the following year. Spears announced a pregnancy in April 2022 but the couple later revealed they had experienced a miscarriage. Asghari filed for divorce in August 2023 and their divorce was finalized in December the following year. He later moved on with Brooke Irvine.
