Films like When Harry Met Sally and Prelude to a Kiss, not to mention the times she shared the screen with Tom Hanks in films like Sleepless in Seattle and 1999’s You’ve Got Mail have turned Connecticut native Meg Ryan into the queen of romantic comedies.

She was married to fellow actor Dennis Quaid from 1991 until 2001. Together they had one child, a son named Jack.

In 2006, Ryan adopted a daughter named Daisy from China. “I always thought I’d adopt, and at various points I was on the brink of it,” the actress told The Sunday Times in December 2024. “But it was particular to Daisy, I guess. I don’t know how events conspired to bring us together, but it was perfect.”
