Chase Stokes

Chase Stokes was born and raised in Annapolis, Maryland, before moving to Orlando, Florida, as a teenager. He played ice hockey growing up, before breaking into acting.

Stokes, who also writes poetry and plays guitar, landed his first acting gig in 2014’s Lost Island. He then appeared on episodes of Base, Stranger Things and Daytime Divas before starring in Between Waves and The Beach House.

His big break came in 2019 when he scored the role of John B in Netflix’s Outer Banks. The show premiered in April 2020 and quickly boosted Stokes’ career. He has since appeared in the Kygo’s “Hot Stuff” music video and starred in Dr. Bird’s Advice for Sad Poets. In 2021, he had a recurring role on Tell Me Your Secrets.

After meeting on the set of Outer Banks, Stokes began dating costar Madelyn Cline. The pair confirmed their romance in June 2020, with Stokes telling Us Weekly in February 2021 that the relationship really took form amid the coronavirus pandemic. “It’s just been a special thing. I mean, not only is she my partner in crime, she’s become my best friend on planet Earth,” he told Us at the time.

Us confirmed in November 2021 that the twosome had split after sparking breakup speculation a few months prior. He started dating Kelsea Ballerini on and off beginning in early 2023.
