Britney Spears may not be focused on her fashion these days, but she has been working on her musical comeback.
Of primary importance: her collaboration with Criss Angel on an opening act for MTV’s Video Music Awards, which she reportedly presented to network reps on August 27.
(That day, Spears, 25, was seen entering L.A.’s Alley Kat dance studio with manager Jeff Kwatinetz, who, a source says, “is working with Brit on a trial basis.”)
“She’s planning it to be a big comeback performance,” says a Spears insider, who adds that the goal is to make it “shocking.”
One early idea that was canned?
Performing “My Prerogative” amid a medley of hits, as images of exes Justin Timberlake, 26, and Kevin Federline, 29, and other gossip fodder flashed on a screen behind her.
As for a report that she’d do a duet with Timberlake?
“Totally, patently false,” says a Timberlake source.

OK you people are so wrong for doggin Brittney, I can obviously see that she is going through a huge depression right now and she's just not dealing with things as well as others would. You have to understand that she has never had a childhood, put yourself in her shoes you would be miserable to. I don't think her performance sucked I think she should have got herself on her feet before taking the next step. It was just too early. And by the way don't call her children ugly. It's sooo hard to go through a divorce the kids are really the one's losing out.
I still like Brit, she just needs more time to transition herself back to positive. It's the hardest thing to do.

Ok..She´s going through some rough changes in her life, fine. But she most be really stupid to think that everything can be as before if only she make a new album. Her new song, "Gimme moore" is so bad, and after all the scandals, after all the wishing that she would get her life back on trail again, you just get so dissapointed. The conquerence is so hard, and there is plenty of other talented and pretty girls, and women, who Britney have to compete about the fans with. Once upon a time Britney was actually known for her talent, she delieverd hit after hit, and she looked great. Now a day, when you ask someone if they know who Britney Spears are, they only know about all the weird and absurd things she does. Her old fans has grown up and moved on. Perhaps Britney should do the same..

I heard she is going to come out lipsyncing "Toxic", then light her pubes on fire and attempt to cook an egg over it. Then immediately after the song is over, she will shove a live grenade in her mouth and blow herself up while her kids gleefully dance naked to "Ding Dong, The Witch is Dead".

Britney's comeback in front of 100 people lip synching like the $0.01 wh*re she is, that is ridiculous. She doesn't have the b*lls to do what David Coverdale did with Whitesnake after he had career threatening throat surgery. He almost lost his singing voice once and for all and had to have throat surgery to save his voice and the first track he recorded after he had surgery was "Still of the Night". Then, the first performance since his career setback was a full 2 hour show in front of 80,000 people at the 1987 Texxas Jam at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, TX. Rick Allen of Def Leppard's first performance after he lost his arm in a car crash was in front of 100,000 people at THE MONSTERS OF ROCK FESTIVAL in England in 1986. Those were REAL COMEBACKS. Britney didn't disappear unlike these rockers as her private life kept her in the media as her album sales were sinking and sinking.

I won't be watching that train wrecked b*tch. I will be seeing the Heaven and Hell (a/k/a the Dio fronted Black Sabbath) with Queeensryche and Alice Cooper concert that night. Now, those are real artists. My friends at THE RIGHT TO ROCK have relayed me a message and THEY GUARANTEE you if her performance happens, it is going to be a laughing stock. Either that OR she NO-SHOWS. My prediction is a no-show. If she does, prepare for her to start with her chain smoking drinking a bottle of vodka and then watch her dance and her WIG go flying off. My all-time favorite VMA moment was when Brian May got a little choked up accepting the Best Video From a Movie Award when Queen Won for "Bohemian Rhapsody" in 1992 and Roger Taylor (God love him said) "THANKS, WE LOVE THE MOVIE". That same one, Nirvana did a teaser of "Rape Me" to p*ss the censors off and then Krist Novoselic threw his bass and knocked him on his head and Kurt Cobain trashed the band's equipment before Dave Grohl yelled "HI AXL" into the mike.

I was planning on watching the awards because 1) MTV said they were only going to air it ONCE and 2) to see Lilly Allen and Amy Winehouse perform. But since those ladies won't be on there, what's the point? Brit's performance is gonna be on YouTube seconds after she's done so I can watch that "performance" at my convienence.
