Is this what Britney Spears meant when she wrote on her Web site last month, “I look forward to a new year and a new me”?
According to the New York Post and the New York Daily News, the singer collapsed in the VIP area of Pure nightclub in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve and needed to be helped from the nightclub just before 1 a.m.
“Everyone was talking about it,” an onlooker tells Us.
Before she was escorted out of Pure, Spears, 25, counted down to midnight inside the club and said, “Happy f—king New Year. What happens in Vegas always stays in Vegas!” Then she headed upstairs to the club’s balcony and drank out of a Dom Pérignon bottle, says a witness.
A Pure spokesperson denies the collapse, as does a Spears’ rep, who tells Us, “she traveled to Las Vegas on a tour bus with her children and was exhausted.”
Spears' manager, Larry Rudolph, told the Associated Press, "By about one o'clock, she was just done, so we took her out. She was not drunk. She was just tired and falling asleep."
The incident, which was picked up by gossip blogger Perez Hilton, capped off an eventful week.
After spending Christmas at home in Louisiana, Spears and her pals headed to a spa in Scottsdale, Arizona. On December 29, they hit the Jackrabbit Supper Club – where she chatted up NFL quarter back – and former Paris Hilton beau – Matt Leinart.
“They were flirting,” says a source. Adds another, “Paris is going to be pissed.”
No more than Leinart’s on-and-off girlfriend Brynn Cameron, who gave birth to the couple’s son in October. Says a source, “Brynn is not happy. But it was a one-time occurrence.”

But she is in trouble, maybe she has serious psychological problems. And happy people never do such things that she did. Maybe all of you are angels here without any vices? Jess 5:25-Finally, yes! We CAN agree...she needs to be home. I'm sorry though one thing I do not agree with is the age thing. I keep hearing "she's only 25" and "she didn't have a childhood". Honey, those things DO NOT make a hill of beans. For the record my mother was very ill when I was young and I was 9 years old and left to do all housework and help raise my 6 year old sister. At the age of 20 I had my first son. I didn't have a childhood, either and I was young when I had children as well. But I didn't feel "robbed" of said childhood that I felt compelled to go out and party every night like Britney. Life is hard but you suck it up and make the best of it that you can. What is soooo sad about the Britney situation is that NO ONE family or otherwise has stepped in to help her. If britney wants the space and wants people to stop criticizing and pointing fingers, then she needs to get away for a few months. Go back to Kentwood with your kids for a few months to a year to get yourself together. Get rid of three out of the four nanny's you hired and take a more active role in your kids lives. Get a makeover while you're at it and start dressing like a woman with some taste and class! The problem with britney is that her whole career has been about sex appeal since Baby One More Time and when she doesn't have that, her career is in jeopardy. Then her kiss to Madonna was "THE KISS OF DEATH" to her career as her fourth album sold even less than third album. Then her marrying Jason Alexander sped up her demise which then climaxed with K-Fed and her tour was cut short so she could be with him. Then the wild child has two babies whom she neglects so she can get shitfaced/high or whatever. The only thing that will stop her is a tragedy involving either her kids or her dying of an overdose.
