I don't follow celebeties lives but I saw a comment on a magazine, read part of the article and it broke my heart your behavior is classic textbook of someone who is bipolar and folks don't understand what is going on so they self medicate with different addictions to make themselves feel better. There are medications out there that have been proven to treat this illness. More that 80% have a sucess rate for managing the problem. Your creative, talented and smart those are the upsides of have this particular illness. If fact if you are bipolar you would be ina position to help a lot of folks out there in addition perhaps there would be more funding. Britney, put everything and everyone aside for a while and take care of yourself because right now that is all that matters. You will shine again, this isnt a publicity stunt on your part. I give kudos to your father for loving you enough to do this. I respect your courage to take this step it is a difficult one. You are in my thoughts and in my prayers there is no judgement from me. Usmagazine.com has learned that Britney Spears checked herself into an in-patient rehab facility in L.A. on Tuesday after her father pleaded with her to get help.
"Britney Spears has voluntarily checked herself into an undisclosed rehab facility today," the singer's manager Larry Rudolph confirms.
"We ask that the media respect her privacy as well as those of her family and friends at this time."
Though the name of Spears' treatment center has not been released, a source tells i she has been seen walking the grounds and smoking cigarettes outside Promises Treatment Center in Malibu, California.
The decision to enter rehab comes only days after the singer's weekend meltdown. On Friday night, she spontaneously dropped into Esther's Haircutting Studio in L.A.'s Tarzana area and shaved her own head.
She then popped into Body & Soul Tattoo parlor in Sherman Oaks, where she got inked with a pink, black and white cross on her hip and pink and red lips on her wrist.
Spears' relationship with her mother, Lynne Spears, has been strained for months over her rampant partying, says a source. "Her mom cries and begs Britney to calm down, but Britney just yells at her and tells her to mind her own business," a source told Us shortly before the singer checked into rehab. "Lynne was at a breaking point."
Over an early dinner at Stevie's Creole Cafe in Encino on Sunday, Spears' father, Jamie Spears, pleaded with his daughter (who was wearing a blonde wig) to enter treatment, according to a friend of the family.
"Jamie just told Britney how much he loves her and that he wants her to get help," says the source. "He told her that he's afraid for her safety and that she needs to take a look at her life and make some major changes or everything is going to get worse. Britney listened to her father and nodded, but was very serious."
After the intense meeting, Britney and her father walked out of the restaurant together at around 5:30 p.m.
According to the source, the death of the singer's aunt, Sandra Covington, last month may have pushed Spears over the edge. "She was already in a bad place and to lose a favorite family member compounded all the other tragedies and difficulties in her life -- it only added to her downward spiral."
This isn’t the first time Spears has entered a treatment center. On February 15, the 25-year-old mother of two checked into Antigua’s Crossroads Centre, a rehab facility founded by musician Eric Clapton, but checked out the following day.

The problem is as follows: Britney Spears needs to take control of her life and her career. The mistake happened 9 years ago when Jive Records signed Britney to their label. She signed a recording contract without having even a clue as to how the entertainment business operates thinking that all she has to do is her "thing" and the money will just start rolling in. She doesn't understand what it means to get rich and to stay rich. She doesn't understand the meaning of it being the music BUSINESS. One of the newspapers ran an article and said she wasn't admitted to a hotel because she didn't have a credit card or money. Excuse me? The same Britney Spears who is supposedly worth over 100 million dollars can't afford a hotel room? Wouldn't you think if she was as rich as the media is made out to be she could at least afford a hotel room. Britney clearly does not DESERVE to be wherd she is. She doesn't understand what is going on and she is always playing the role of victim. She would not be in this situation if she had made better decisions in terms of who to marry, when to have kids, etc. As far as I am concerned if you are a superstar the way she is it is your DUTY to understand the business and to make intellegent decisions on the part of your life and your career. If truth be told the only reason why Britney is where she is is because of Larry Rudolph. The same Larry Rudolph who used to be an entertainment lawyer thus posessing the ability to "argue his case" as to why Britney or any other artists he would manage should do this that and the other thing starting with a deal with Jive Records if you get my drift. If it wasn't for Larry she would have been over and done with a long time ago. Britney was urged by her father to enter rehab? It's more like her father was under orders from Rudolph to tell Britney she's to go back to rehab or he is through with the whole Spears gang, thus no career comeback and goodbye any endorsements such as Pepsi that Larry put together.
Britney is a sweet person who had life come at her too fast. NO ONE, not even other stars, know what it's like to be her. She was a sex object at age 15. She was a household name. She started showbiz as a kid and was basically the most famous person in America during the years where you really learn who you are. She didn't have a normal upbringing. She didn't have a moment of peace until she married KFed and then she started having babies so soon she didn't have down time then either. She's done many stupid things, she's definitely having a breakdown, but no one can say they wouldn't in her shoes because no one's ever been in her shoes. And she is talented. She is a natural born performer. You don't become famous unless there's something special about you. And she had that spark.
I really want to rub my balls on her bald head.
britney needs to get her act together. i love her and her music so much. and its funny because NO one in my family likes her. they all think she is a bad person and i know she is just going through a rough time right know. and to all her past boyfrienr/ex-husbands, stop talking all this sh@!# about her. She just needs time to get her life back on track. and britney, if you are reading this stop dating everyone and get your life together NOW! you still have family, friends, and fans who still care about you. and forget about all those guys who have said bad stuff about you. they maen nothing.

They rarely lock people up in asylums anymore. Outpatient treatment is all the rage and has been since the 80s. Unless there is a clearly defined link between her big shave and clear danger she will hurt herself(suicide), all hands are tied by law!
This is just another attempt to get attention, bad or good - does not matter to her. Hairdresser claimes that all blinds in her shop were closed by her. She thinks that bleepney's body guards opened them enough for the paps to get their pictures. She is definatly a wacked out sicko. She only shaved her head because she was afraid her x would have sombody test it to see what kind of drugs she has been consuming. Now that she is in rehab, all of her "friends" are comming foreward and stating exactly how much of a f*&K$% up she really is. She only wanted those babies because she was so insanley jealous of Shar Jackson, and the bond that kfed and she share, and always will share - their children. She is sooooooo emotionally retared. I don't think I have ever seen anybody as imature as she is at the age of 25. This is a person who sits by the pool in public and shaves her leggs. This is a person who asks total strangers if they can switch bikinies. This is a person who goes into a strip club, gets naked, and tries on the strippers undies, then takes two of them - total strangers - back to her hotel room for a girl on girl party. She is not only emotionally retarded, she is so unstable that she should not be allowed to go out unless she is supervised. At this point, I don't think she needs rehab, she needs to be locked up in a mental hospital for a very long time. She has no talent either. This is just another case of being in the right place at the right time, and having great promoters.
I feel for this woman. She is desperately crying out for help. People are making jokes about her just like they did with Anna Nicole Smith and her public meltdown. I just hope that Britney gets the help that she needs and that she doesn't wind up like Anna Nicole Smith. When young people hit the big time early in life they can never be sure if the ones that are hanging around are there just to get a piece of them or are really friends. For her own good she should stay away from that train wreck Paris Hilton.
Britney i'm praying for you i know that you have been through alot lately. I want you to know that I understand what you're going through i made alot of mistakes too. I married a guy like kevin he always wanted to party and not spend time with our kids or me. but unlike you i stayed married to him for 10 long yrs. hoping that he would eventually change.He would'nt so i finally decided to divorce him and even after that he kept on trying to come back so i had a really hard time moving on. after a while i began dating some real nice guys but i could'nt find happiness in them either maybe it was because of my family judging me all the time saying that i was a slut and other names that i can't mention here,they criticised me for being with other guys without being married it was b/s, and like kevin my ex decided "to change"so he got all the credit, while i was suffering from all the emotional hurt.it's been hard but i found that the only one that understands me is God so i've started praying and just spending time with him and that has helped me alot. I'll be praying for you i know that it's hard but please don't give up you deserve better and so do your precious kids.try to stay away from anyone that does'nt understand your pain because they will never understand you unless they go through what you've been through.

I really feel bad for Britney. Nobody knows what it is like to live in the world that she is in and everyone needs to understand that she is going through a divorce her career is at an all time low and her husband who she has two kids with is an idiot. If I were her I would shave my head too. She is looking for a new begining. I think it was a great career move. Look at how much publicity she is getting in her fresh start.

You can only be a teen idol once. You can try and change your image but sometimes the talent doesn't reach. Britney succeeded years ago. Her music career is in the past. Britney does show self respect by seeking professional help. I think she has severe post-partum depression. She is going through a horrid ordeal, two babies within two years, a divorce, coming to terms with an expired career. That is a lot for a person to cope with and magazines are publishing all her mistakes.The woman can't even piss without the world knowing it.

I don't agree, everyone has been telling her to "be a mom" and go home and "raise her kids" they are not chanting rehab. Obviously she doesn't want to do that and probably doesn't even like the kids. Instead of rehab she needs to find a way to shed those kids and move on with her own life.

It is sad when everyone has been telling Britney to get help for the past several months. Now she gets help and people are still attacking her. What is the point of change if it isn't even acknowledged? We need to give the girl credit. Rehab is a scary situation. It is clear that she needs help-- I don't think this is for attention. She is lost. I am not a fan of Britney's but I hope that she gets through this. I am praying for you Brit! Good luck!
