she would need witnesses to say kevin is a bad father

a court rather a non-working parent take care of the child rather than a babysitter to a working parent

she would have to show the child would live in a stable home

thanks to the media she was proven a bad mother, crazy, unstable and kevin does not work

if she fights kevin in court she will lose

I am amazed by what I have read here! I want ONE person to list for me ONE thing Britney Spears has done to prove she loved her children. According to my count, she has had several BOYFRIENDS, MADE OUT WITH SEVERALS STRIPPERS, SHAVED HER HEAD, PARTIED, BOUGHT CARS,FLASHED her PRIVATE PARTS ON THE INTERNET, AND PUT OUT A CRAPPY ALBUM but I have not read anything about her taking a parenting class, staying OUT of clubs, KEEPING BOTH MEN AND WOMEN OUT OF HER PANTS, AND PUTTING HER CHILDREN FIRST, OVER HER CAREER. We will know, what her children will think of her when they grow up. If she were MY mother I would be DIGUSTED AND ASHAMED. How do I know this, because I work with kids, who have been abandoned, only they have not been abandoned by RICH people! We have two standards ONE for the rich and one for the POOR if Britney was POOR she would not have the media backing her the way they are. I pity these childrens. Kevin, may be selfish but sad to say he is a hell of a lot better of a parent than she CAN or WILL EVER BE.

She never did care about those kids. She wanted to party and live a carefree life. Now she's got it. Too bad the kids will grow up resenting the fact that their mom was an irresponsible lush. Sad,sad,sad.

Well...I guess Kevin has a good paycheck every Month. He has it made, at least until the boys are 18.

Britney is NOT bipolar. The woman destroyed her brain cells from the drugs she consumed (cocaine, weed, meth and others plus drinking whilst drugging sped up her brain destruction). Syd Barrett wasn't bipolar nor schizophrenic, he took drugs and destroyed his brain cells. On the other hand, Ozzy Osbourne is bipolar. He did more crazy things than that half twit Britney ever could. You see, he started Black Sabbath, then after his ouster bit heads off of live bats, live birds, urinated on the Alamo (a US monument), snorted live ants, plotted to urinate on the White House and had also attempted strangulation on his beloved Sharon. He may not be on illicit drugs these days but he is brain damaged from the drugs and also had bipolar from an early age and takes meds to combat his bipolar. He still raised his kids with Sharon despite his bipolar so don't give us the bullsh*t she can't do it. Britney only cares about HERSELF and her OWN CAREER. Once conservatorship with dad ends, we guarandamntee the woman will either OD or commit suicide or something. Old dogs can't be taught new tricks. Her album flopped and her next one will do worse.

As long as Britney continues to be under conservatorship by her father, she will never see custody of her boys. In the eyes of the law, she isn't capable of being a full time parent. If she can't manage her own life, how can she be expected to manage anyone else's (much less 2 toddlers). The boys are doing well with Kevin, and Britney is focusing on her career, her mental health, and her image. It was actually far less selfish than locking herself in the bathroom with a baby and causing trauma. I think the decision was a positive one. It's better they see Mommy a couple of times a week in a healthy manner than live with her in an unhealthy one. She isn't mature enough or ready enough to give up that much of herself. At least not yet. The boys need stability and Kevin has provided that.

I don't think of it as her giving up. She is still going through alot and the kids are best with their father for right now. If she had custody of the kids and kevin got them four days a week with overnight visits it would be fine, since when has it become a bad thing for children to also be with their father. Alot of people bashed Kevin at first saying he was just trying to get money from her... but we don't get to see all the behind the scenes stuff, what we did see was bad enough so imagine how bad it really was. As sure as her father is still serving as conservator over her, it shows that if she can't even take care of her self, how could she take care of her children right now. When she gets better, she can always go back and petition the court again.

Good grief people give it a rest. Yes this is sad but to be so cruel & cast stones on someone you have no idea about or what is really going on GET A FRIGGIN LIFE. If there are issues then what would you have her do. If she is not ready to be a full time mother would you rather hear about something horrific down the line happening here. Give this woman a break & give Kevin a break. Sometimes children are best left with fathers. Mothers in name only are sometimes not the best parent. I am not saying Kevin is the better parent at all here but for the time being he is. Don't cast stones when you don't knwo what the frig your talking about. Maybe put yourself in these shoes & think about it. These are two beautiful boys that need love care & attention & away from the media. Britney obviously needs more care & knows it. The courts obviously know it too. It certainly does not mean she doesn't love her children at all. Like I said this is much better than something a lot worse happening & gives Britney a chance to heal herself.

This is all about what is best for the children & for Britney!!

Ha, she is a horrible mom, that's why she gave her kids up to him because she knows she won't win...and she cares more about her own damn life then her children's lives, thats why she GAVE her kids to their father. Ha, that's a damn shame, she'd rather party & be in the spot light then not be in the limelight and actually raise her children. Some people shouldn't be parents, and she's one of those people!

It's interesting that Britney gives K-Fed sole custody of Sean Preston, 2 1/2 and Jayden James, 1 1/2, etc.

it makes me mad when you people say stuff like , britney is giving up, and that she cares more about her career than her own children . wow , that is really not the case at all, we all know birtney cares for her children, and its about the kids and whats best for them, and i'm sure britney feels sad she can't have a little more time with them, but thats just what happends sometimes, and i'm sure shes dealing with it as best as she can . so all you haters need to think twice before you go and run your mouths . i think britney is fabulousssss !

It's kinda sad that britney cares more about her career comeback than her kids. Instead of making videos for madonna she should have been making herself better.

This just PROVES that Britney is thinking for the kids.

Sure she could've EASILY gone to court, fought tooth and limb for her kids and go through the emotional, financial and mental roller coaster that came with it. But as common sense will tell us that will only HURT her in the end and create an unstable environment for the kids which is the last thing children need.

She doesn't need to prove anything to us. She knows what she's doing and she's looking out for the kids. I applaud her for her decision. Sure she's gonna have to pay K-C*NT more money which is all he really wants but I mean, she is thinking about the kids and what THEY need instead of how SHE looks in front of us.

Anonymous 11:46: She did not just hand over the kids. The law does not allow her to have custody while she has a conservatorship in place. She is not allowed to make decisions for herself (or decisions regarding the children). She is slowly getting better and she is continously increasing her time with the boys. I am sure once she gets control of her affairs again she will petition 50/50 custody. These agreements can be revised at later dates when circumstances change.
