I don't think the baby should have Tom's last name, JET isn't living with Tom so they shouldnt have a link as intimate as last names. On the other hand, I think Bridget is a lime-light seeking fool, what with the timing she chose for announcing that she was pregnant. And what's up with the baby's name? I love how she gave him the three most common male names.

Tom Brady was mostly absent during Bridget Moynahan’s pregnancy with their child (born August 22), and now that’s not the only thing that’s missing. The actress, 36, decided not to include her ex’s surname when naming her son.
A rep for the actress has released a statement officially announcing the child’s name as John Edward Thomas Moynahan.
Someone should tell that to the New England Patriots! During their game against the Carolina Panthers on August 24, announcers congratulated the 30-year-old quarterback and told the crowd in Charlotte, North Carolina, that the boy was named Jonathan Brady.
Meanwhile, Moynahan’s camp insists that all is well.
“She is thankful for a healthy baby and is excited about being a mother,” says Moynahan’s rep in the statement, who adds that the actress “was very pleased that the father, Tom Brady, was able to be there for the birth.”

I don't think the baby should have Tom's last name, JET isn't living with Tom so they shouldnt have a link as intimate as last names. I never understood why people get involved in other people's lives. Stop!!
Some of you are out of your freaking minds. Yeah, let that boy know he's an illegitimate bastard by not giving him his father's last name.
The Old "Keep a bleep" baby... definately should have Tom's last name.
i think you should have had my baby biatch but now ur gunna die
Why is everyone so quick to judge Tom Brady? It looks like Bridget got pregnant as a last resort to try and make him love her and not putting his name on the birth certificate is a precursor of how she will try and use this child as a way to get back at him for not loving her.
5:16 pm You are right. The mother does not have to use the fathers last name if she chooses not to.Tom Brady should have at least helped her during her pregnacy ,if he knew about it.He was in the wrong to just leave her like that, but she did not announce her pregnacy til all the hoopla came out about his fling with model Gisel. On the other hand,it took two to tangle. If Bridget knew she was pregnant, she should have immediately told Tom,not wait til he finds another squeeze.I think she let the cat out of the bag so that his relationship would end with Gisel and embarress him publicly.I believe in children taking the last names of their fathers,no matter what the situation is.
Bridget is only in the news because she's linked to Tom Brady and because 'supposedly' this is his baby! Not because of her acting abilities. What's up with the name she gave the baby? And why was she about a month overdue? This is all about who the daddy is.....and the money from his wallet. Can you say paternity test?
It's not a law that you have to give your child the fathers last name specially if the parents arent married!! An anybody that thinks that is ignorant!! It's 2007!!! There not togther anymore, Tom wasn't there for the most part of her pregnancy, because he was too busy with his new girlfriend. He showed Bridget no respect, humiliated her for the world to see, so why should she show him the respect of giving the baby his last name! Maybe this will wake him up and make him realize what a jackass he was!!!
Tom Brady abandoned her and the child. To give the child his name would be a perversion of justice. To males who are resentful of this fact: Stop complaining. You cannot have your cake and eat it too. Other people have their own interests, too. The world does not revolve around you. Time to grow up.
Ladies, this is what happens when you have sex outside of marriage; men do not value you. As Giselle will find out.
That was below the belt.
I don't know of any SINGLE woman who has given her child the father's last name. And I don't blame her. If they were married it would be a different story. They are not together and it sucks to have a different last name than your mother when you're a kid. People always assume (or know) that your mom is single.
`This baby will never ever change his last name for his fathers name, because he will see all those pictures where his daddy was when his mother was pregnant with him. He's also born on august 22.He's a Leo.He will be a dam proud Kid.
To those of you who think he will be actively involved in the kid's life, take a look at photos from the Boston Herald showing him and Gisele making out a day or so ago. Most dads are helping out with their newborns when they're a week old, not making out with their girlfriend on the other side of the country. I'm sure his child will love to see those photos when he's older...NOT!
I've really enjoyed reading all these comments. They supplied some comic relief. I don't think she gave the baby her last name as revenge. I wonder all the time why women's surnames are lost. I mean, in the Latin community it is common for children to have both parents' last names, but when it comes time to drop one, it's almost ALWAYS the mother's. I know this b/c I work in marriage license and everytime I have to tell someone that both last names must appear on the license, I'm told, "Oh, that's just my mother's last name, it's not REALLY my last name." I find it insulting. So, when my son was born, I decided and his father agreed, to give him my last name. If he wants to change it when he gets older, sobeit. For now, I get the joy of knowing my name isn't lost.
The child will feel at home with Bridget much more when both share the same surname and I mean surnamE not surnameS.
Bridget will raise the child and the child will live with her so why giving him another surname than the one where JET lives?
All of this talk about her doing it out of spite aside I would have named him after myself too for two reasons. One they aren't married so there is absolutely no legal obligation to do so and two she's a girl maybe she wanted her family name to be carried on by her child. Tom will be knocking up women for a long time to come he'll have plenty of more opportunities to name them after him...or better yet here are a few more options...
Dallas (after the Dallas cowboys)
Cisco (after the 49ers)
Minnie if it's a girl (Minnisota vikings)
Steele (After the Pittsburgh Steelers)
LMAO!!!!!
Technically by law she does have more rights to the child than the father. That's how the law works in the matter of hierachy...mom since the child was carried inside, then father since he is the next to nearest biological relation, then mom's parents since they are the nearest biological relation to the one carrying the child, then paternal grand parents since they are biologically related to the sperm donor. That's just how the law sees it. Now if you throw a kink into the system like with the whole Britney fiasco then you have to step back and say ok mom is screwed in the head, dad isn't that great either, mom and dad on mom's side are divorced so you can't split the children between the two, and who knows if k-fed even has parents, so ok who's next in line LMAO
anon 6:20 since you are bringing God into the discussion let's back it up further why aren't they married before they had the baby that's how God intended it anyway. So if you are going to forget the first major rule why not toss them all out along with the whole baby last name bit. If one isn't important why should any of them be? Bridget has the right to name her kid anything she wants too.
who cares what the kids last name is. She named him JET to piss him off. Now thats a story. Good job US mag missing the best part of the story.
Can you all see, 9 months from now? Gisella's publicist has announced the birth of Bradzilla, Jr. Tom, if I were you I would start cleaning and throwing out anything in that freezer of yours that you share with Gisella. Especially little ziplock bags with viles.
anyone notice his first 3 initials are J E T
I love that Tom Brady is sharing headlines right next to a fellow football player Michael Vick. Coincidence? Since Victoria's Secret dropped her, maybe Gisele should make PETA's next spokesmodel due to her deep affinity and attachment to dogs. That will definitely be a step up from "Panty Model". Look out Pam Anderson, Gisella is coming.
For baby's sake, add his real Dad.s name.
I think she should have given the baby his last name. Why do people always want to change the way America has always given the last name of the father to their children? Why don't women want to be women anymore? If God wanted you to be a man he would have made you one. America has all the women now wanting the mens roles except when it comes to getting down and dirty.I never here any women complaining about it not beening equal rights when they get into the club free, on ladies night. To many chiefs not enough indians, that is our problem with these so called women today.
I just think that they should be nice to each other for the baby's sake! I don't think anyone except the 2 of them know what's going and really, they should just try to enjoy their new baby.. together or apart from each other.. whatever!
This Voting is biased. 80 percent of the visitors are Female. If this was a poll on mensfitness.com it would be the opposite. Just a bunch of man haters here.
AMEN to that last comment! Finally, someone who knows SOMETHING about the NFL. "most underated player in NFL history" ... I can't think of any better way to describe him.
it's probably not tom's baby. i mean honestly, was adam vinatieri around or a fake tuck rule put in place when this happened? if not then i'd have to say no, since that's the only way the most overrated player in NFL history accomplishes anything.
