Not that we don’t appreciate it, because it makes our job easier, but do we really need both of our major wire services reporting that Angelina Jolie got on a train in India and – gasp -- it was crowded? Of course we do!

The Associated Press AND Reuters want you to know that Jolie and actor Dan Futterman surprised commuters Monday when they stood in line for tickets and boarded a crowded compartment of a Mumbai train for a scene in their film A Mighty Heart.

Curious and disbelieving passengers yelled Jolie’s name and jostled for a view of the sultry actress – clad in a green T-shirt and khaki trousers -- but were kept at bay by four of her bodyguards. Passengers seeking autographs were not allowed near Jolie. There was no police security for the shooting.

Suburban trains are used by some six million commuters every day, many of whom travel by hanging from the door-less coaches during rush hour.

The actors later filmed street scenes walking near the Gateway of India, a popular tourist destination in downtown Mumbai, and then shot some scenes inside a local hair salon and restaurant.

In the film, Futterman plays Daniel Pearl, an American journalist who was kidnapped and murdered in Pakistan in 2002, and Jolie plays his wife Mariane.

Talk to Us: Do you think it’s brave or foolish for Angelina and Brad to travel without police protection?
