Amy Winehouse is set to go to the Grammys, a source close to the singer confirms to Usmagazine.com.
She briefly left a London clinic this morning to go to the U.S. Embassy to renew her visa, her rep tells Us.
"Yes, that's true," the rep says.
Her father Mitch told reporters that she has since returned to the clinic and "has not left for good.”
Her rep told Britain's The Sun: "The appointment at the U.S. Embassy was made some time ago and was part of the process for obtaining a visa. No decision has been made about the Grammys."
But a source told Us that Winehouse, 24, “is desperate to go and has been told she can go on the condition that she has a minder there and returns to rehab when back in the U.K."
The singer is up for album of the year, song of the year and record of the year.
On January 24, her label confirmed that she had entered a drug rehabilitation facility.
"She has come to understand that she requires specialist treatment to continue her ongoing recovery from drug addiction," a label rep said in a statement.
The move came after The Sun released a video of her apparently using a crack pipe.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and i think amy winehouse, though not "classically" beautiful, is beautiful in her own, unique way....her honesty, her vulnerability and her TALENT make her much more stunning than typical so-called beauties...you people are missing the point- winehouse is the best thing to happen in music in a l-o-n-g time...as for the drugs: amy isn't the only entertainer who has fallen prey, but at least she has the brains to get help....as for the grammies: bring it ON, amy, and get the awards you deserve...i'm already imagining the standing ovations you'll get

4:21----Amy Winehouse is far from stunning...What are you smoking??? It should be against the law to have her name and stunning in the same sentence. Stunning is beauty, is class, is sophisticated and is charismatic. Halle Berry, Charlize Theron, katie holmes, Lucy Liu and Jada Pinkett smith just to name a few "non DD's" are ladies that deserve the "stunning crown". Amy Winehouse looks more like a dirty anorexic crack Ho. AND this is how she appears daily....

OK, so calm down people.
First of all, just a year ago, before she skidded into this drug induced hell, Amy Winehouse looked fantastic. She is a beautiful girl when she eats something every once in a while.
Britney and Amy Winehouse have the same problem and that is a totally distorted sense of reality, from which they get no relief. When I see Britney being transported somewhere in an ambulance or even going to court, the woman is MOBBED by hordes of the press. HORDES. She has a $120 million dollar industry on her back, and they are milking her very existence for every cent they can get from her.
Both of these girls have the same issue. They reached meteroic heights seemingly overnight, and are not sufficiently educated to be able to deal with stress or to be able to put any of this into perspective.
They should both go through about a year of intensive rehab, and then go to school. Because really, no matter what happens, the next ten years are going to go by, and when they do, Amy and Britney will either be dead, or wake up one day wishing they were dead because all of the attention and money is gone, or maybe, just maybe, they will have come to an understanding of what is important in life; they will have developed an appreciation of the world and all that's come before them, and understand their own tiny place in it.... and maybe, they will be able to turn this pain into something useful.
Miniscule chance, but I hope it happens.

It's a pity that Amy's crossover into mainstream pop has crippled her like this. This young woman used to play prestigious international jazz circuits and hold her own with some of the most genius contemporary jazz players and composers of modern time, as both vocalist and a passable jazz guitarist. I witnessed it, long before the monster that eventually became "Rehab" and thrust her into the circus her life has tragically become. Call it selfish, but I actually wish her record label would have never have introduced her to the masses. Some people are just better off thriving in a smaller, more musically astute market, playing amongst the likes of Terrance Blanchard, Herbie Hancock, and ect., as she so effortlessly used to do...Comparing Britney Spears to Amy Winehouse is like comparing apples and oranges. They have nothing in common other than they've made headlines. One is a lip sycher made famous by teeny pop and hip isolations, while the other is a jazz musician who happens to (or used to) have good chops that could tear the roof off the place by her mastery of legendary saxophonist James Moody's "Moody's Mood for Love.
...and as for the sad posters who sit here criticizing and attacking in all their delusions of grandeur, who clearly can't tell a chord progression from someone scratching their derriere, we'll leave you to your ignorance. It appears that even on the likes of usmagazine.com there are still legitimate music connoiseurs here, and they obviously know what time it is.

I wish Amy all the best. I think she has a very soulful, wonderful voice. Everyone has their own problems and it just happens to be that hers are right there out in the open. I think if she's focused enough and has faith, she will be able to make it. She is a very pretty woman, however, for the love of GOD please eat a sandwich. God Bless!!

I agree with John/12:36pm, at least for part of it. Grammy's, not so much, not until she's better. Her last performance at an awards show was horrendous. However, her album is actually very good. It is one of the best ones I've heard in awhile and was truly overlooked because of her issues at the moment. I wish her well and hope that when she gets back on her feet, she continues with her music and focuses on her family life. God Bless!!!

Yikes this girl is fugly, she's so scary and painful to look at. She has skewed priorities, she should concentrate on getting better first and forget the award show. Wanna bet she goes back to drugging, partying and not rehab after?! I think she only went to rehab to show her handlers and the Grammy people that she's trying and wants to get better, but I don't buy it.
