First of all, Whitney is NOT overweight or fat. Second of all, I am also tired of people acting like people who are overweight are just lazy and eat to eat. People have all the sympathy in the world for anorexics and bulimecs, but can't understand that binge eating can also be a psychological disorder that is incredibly hard to control just like the previously mentioned illnesses. Not to mention there are worlds of other reasons a person could be overweight other than being "lazy". Some people are just not genetically predisposed to be skinny, others might have thyroid disease, PCOS, or a plethora of other maladies that make it INCREDIBLY difficult to lose weight. Who is anyone else to judge?

Okay lets get this straight, "Lucy" shes not a whale. Tyra isn't fat either. I'm so sick of some people because they think that people who aren't all skin and bones are fat. Whitneys a beautiful full figured model. I'm not saying everyone in the world has to be like that. I will admit that I dont like some skinny girls because they think that they are better. And I'd rather be full figured that a freaking toothpick because thats not healthy at all. So to all the skinny girls who think that full figured is fat, or to all the people [Lucy] who think that a size 10 is huge, why don't you take a good hard look at your selves? Because America runs on skinny and anorexia is the new trend. So are we all supposed to starve ourselves to fit in to "The American Dream" lifestyle? WRONG. So let's not hate on Whitney just because you can't see her ribcage. Okay.
Full figured women keep your head up, this just shows that we're taking over. If a full figured girl can be Americas Next Top Model then hey, we can do anything =]

If a size 8 is a PLUS SIZE, I think that's CRAZY!!!! I'd guess that most women are a 10 -14 average in the U.S. Even Marilyn Monroe was a size 14!!!!

I beleive Whitney is very pretty and if she decides to stay a plus size model good for her, but if she decides to lose weight good for her to. Either way Whitney desvered to win she was the best!!!

Actually obesity runs in Whitney's family. Her mother is enoumously huge. Her sister is 4 sizes bigger then her..She will eventully follow the same route as her mom. Whitney always tried to stay a small size but couldn't because she like to eat. This segment was a setup anyway. Yes she was spotted at the airport buyig a Hersey's Bar, but the deal was that she had to gain 20 pounds and was guaranteed the last 3 standing..This was told by one of her friends who was sick of hearing her tell her stream of lies.

A size 8 & 10 is certainly NOT plus size by any means. I don't even think plus size clothing stores carry anything lower than a size 12 and that would be the very lowest, and to be honest I dont think I have seen a size 12 ever in all my years of shopping in plus size retailers. Which probably is the reason why she has not been picked up by a major plus size retailer like Lane Bryant. She is gorgeous but I think she is actually just falls somewhere between model thin and a normal healthy weight..which of course seriously confused producers of the show and the fashion modeling industry.. this "phenom". Maybe in the fashion world a size 8 and 10 is plus size but in the real world that is far from the case.

Lucy why are you putting down people who are "fat"? that's stupid, you're stupid and you need a life free of prejudice. and stop the argument already! she's gorgeous and she won. if the other plus-sized girls deserved it more, they would have competed hard and won. they didnt' get over it! i loved toccara but her defeatist attitude shocked and depressed me. she got down on people's attitude towards her and whitney didnt. i think the other whitney deserved to go a bit further but she just wasnt unique or eye-catching. Diana, well forget it. No model potential after a couple of weeks seeing her rather boring photos and attitude. She needed a dose of blood or something in her eyes. Whitney may not be the best but she struggled to get where she wanted. So leave her alone and live your life. Too many haters man!

WTF? I eat normally and I am perfectly healthy.
I don't eat those junk foods like most Americans does. That is why most models from East Europe are naturally skinny, for example Russians don't have eating habits like the Americans. I am an East Asian girl, the food I eat everyday are mostly raw seafoods. That is why I am skinny!
Americans are just more thicker. They have to accept that of course. But saying skinny girls are disgusting and sending bad message? D'uh. That is just stupid and uncalled for. I understand that you have to be proud that your body is more curvy and thicker, but putting down girls that are skinnier than you is not the way to get good self confidence.

The United States has become so used to fat people that when they see someone borderline fat, they call them skinny. The US is the nation with the largest amount of obese people. That's the truth. Period. People are overweight, they do not exercise, they drive instead of walking, they are obsessed with processed food, and they think that is acceptable behavior. Because they are so fat, they have to find justification in the fact that they cannot get around their bad habits and have to say that being fat is beautiful. That is the reason why this whole nation is getting sicker by the day.

but you know just because the fashion industry needed a "wake-up call" or whatever they want to call it, her attitude made me not want her to win

First of all size 8-10 is healthy not plus size.Beauty isn't based on your size it's whats on the inside that counts and that will spill over on the outside.No matter what sizes you may be remember to always love yourself inside and out.I'm a plus size woman and I have participated in various fashion shows so, to all my plus size women hold your head up and remember that your beauty isn't justfied by your size.

not most women fit under a size 0 or 2. Just take a look outside.
I am not saying that naturally skinny isn´t beautiful because it is, or that eating healthy and exercise isn´t important, but you should be more open to other body types and sizes yeesh.
I do believe she being a size 10 helped a lot in the process of her winning this cycle, but it also helps that she wanted it as bad as most of the girls and that she is confident in her own skin.
and if we are opening our doors to more regular looking girls on runways, bring it! I am thrilled. anyone who says otherwise is just a mean ugly hater, there is enough space for skinny and ''fat'' out there.

Oh and just to let everybody know being a size 0 I have absolutly no problem finding a man. It goes by what men like, some men like smaller women others like thicker women.

I am speechless, after watching the show.. first of all, no matter if u are fat or not, ur body needs to be toned.. Her arm from this picture looks like my grandma's..and my grandma is in better shape than her..
Secondly, plus size or not, you need to exercise regularly, to keep your body in shape, especially in modeling career.. afterall, nobody wanna see a flabby arm (whether fat or not) in a magazine advertisement..
