Now Americans are on drugs for "restless leg syndrome" and "overactive bladder syndrome" (the consequence of everyone being told to drink far more water than they need), and itchy scalps and more. There's certainly a lot to criticize about psychology (which btw is not a hard science) and the pharmaceutical industry. What Cruise is saying honestly sounds much less harsh than what people are free to say about Scientology without censure. While yes, like a lot of religions, Scientology sounds crazy when you stop and think about it, but so does electro shock therapy and lobotomies. I am neutral on the subject of Scientology.

However as a teacher I have seen way too many healthy active little kids drugged with Ritalin and worse for simply having the energy of children and acting like children. How many people spend their lives in psychiatric hospitals in a fog never getting better? I've seen way too many people in therapy for decades, merely making their therapists rich and never seeing any real changes in their lives for the better.

Most of all I think it's disturbing that no matter how big a star, one who publicly questions psychology and pharmaceutcals has to go away and is labelled crazy. Clearly the Psychology and pharmaceutical industries enforce a protected status that shields them from public criticism. As for the whole closeted speculations, that's all they are. Whether or not Cruise is gay and chooses not to come out is entirely his business. Moreover how can he possibly prove a negative. Leave him and his family alone. Get a life.

I think those who've read "1984" can really appreciate this comparison. The attacks on Tom "Emmanuel Goldstein" Cruise are straight out of the Orwell's "1984". Whenever I see more vicious attacks on Mr. Cruise I see it for what it is. Hopefully you do to. Realize that we are being fed our "Two Minutes Hate" on our "telescreens" from "Big Brother".

Why would anybody feel sorry for Tom Cruise as 2:22 AM states? How can one feel sorry for a man who has more money than he knows what to do with? How can one feel sorry for a man who refuses to take less than 10 million dollars a picture as payment. How can one feel sorry for a man who (in my opinion) has very limited acting ability and has thousands of women drooling everytime he speaks. The only thing I feel sorry for Cruise about is his inability to keep his mouth shut about things he knows nothing about.

I feel bad for Tom Cruise. He has his opinions, and he states them. No one should be offended by it. I am on medication and I'm not offended. No one should take medical advice from him, because he isn't their doctor. I am a student studying Psychology and Biology and even considering medical school, and I believe there ARE many problems with healthcare, and people don't question it, it will never progress. Healthcare only progresses, and science for that matter, when people ask questions and think about alternatives. Nothing in science is ever absolute and there are no true "answers". Feel free to express your opinions and criticize if you want, Tom.

Man that picture of Cruise scares the crap out of me! I dont know what is more scary -- seeing photos of him and that 50,000 fake smile or watching what he calls his 'method way of acting'. It is also hard to take one seriously when he tries to b.s. people about his academic background. If I am not mistaken I do not believe he barely made it through high school. Guess he figures his "good looks" alone will get him through life.
